With its 29 coral atolls spread out over 750,000 square miles of tropical Pacific Ocean, the Marshall Islands is literally one the most fishiest countries on Earth!
The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is a democratic nation with a free association political relationship with the US. The RMI is made up of two roughly parallel atoll archipelagos in the central-north Pacific Ocean.
The RMI offers an incredible array of fishing opportunities. Anglers can enjoy flyfishing, jigging, bottom fishing, trolling, casting/whipping, and more.
There are over 1,000 species of open-ocean, deep sea, and reef fish in the RMI. These include the most prized sport fish; blue marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna (and other types), wahoo, mahimahi, barracuda, bonefish, snappers, groupers, trevally, and much more.
All 29 atolls in the RMI offer excellent fishing within the lagoons, on the reef flats, and in the open ocean. From the capital, Majuro Atoll, anglers can easily venture out to neighboring Arno Atoll by boat or to other atolls via Air Marshall Islands.
Wind and sea conditions are most favorable between the months of May and October. ; Southern atolls normally receive higher rainfall throughout the year than northern atolls.
