| Deuteronomy 8:2 | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Being a Christian is hard work. There are some days when you're on a spiritual high and you feel so close to God, and you feel on top of the world. The day goes great, the interactions with people are pleasant, and everything is awesome. But if you're like me, you've also had the downer days. During my walk with the Lord I faced a good long time (a year or so) when those spectacular days were far inbetween eachother. I was angry and irritable. I was never happy with who I was, I was getting frustrated with other people and I was not where I wanted to be when it came to my relationship with Christ. It was a lame period in time. It was my time to walk through the desert. That all happened less than a year ago, and sometimes I have my days where I feel like I've wandered back into the desert. But now I know God puts those periods in my life to help me realize I can't handle my life on my own. I've never been without him, but I know what it feels like when you feel he isn't there. He has put my through the test. I found my way out of the desert. And now I feel on top of the world again. |
