Yongary

Height: 50 meters (estimated)

Weight: 30,000 tons (estimated)

Powers: Hot flames can spout out of mouth, laser emitted from top of the nasal horn, impervious to heat based attacks, able to inhale fire down his throat as a type of food source, burrowing ability and can swim.

History: A nuclear weapon goes off and triggers earthquakes. Discovered by an astronaut, it is soon discovered that an epicenter is moving towards Korea. What can explain this? It isn't long until questions are answered in the form of Yongary, an ancient reptile awakened after being exposed to high levels of radiation. Yongary attacked Korea with his prehistoric might and leveled entire cities to the ground. The military attacked the giant dinosaur with tanks, missiles and machine guns, but it only provoked the animal to continue his thirst for destruction. It is discovered that a type of chemical, known as ammonium, has a vile effect on the dinosaur. The military uses it, but plans are ruined when a kid interested in Yongary empowers the creature to once more attack Man. But it isn't long until Yongary is poisoned and dies on a beach.

Once a King of a prehistoric world long gone, it isn't known if another lurks somewhere beneath the ground

Power Rating: ***

An average rating goes to an average monster. While Yongary's attributes are impressive in their own right, they don't succeed in meriting Yongary a higher rating. Yongary's ability to be immune towards heat attacks and literally 'digest' them would grant the dinosaur an excellent chance to go up against monsters like Godzilla, Gamera and other heat-based-weapon-spewing creatures. Possessing the ability to discharge sheets of fire from his mouth, Yongary could reduce an opponent to charcoal if given the chance. If an opponent is out of the flame's reach, his laser fired from his nasal horn could easily slice into the enemy. It is at least on par with Gaos' (Showa) sonic beam. When worse comes to shove, Yongary could just burrow away and save his own life. But that is all he can do. Missiles do succeed in causing damage to his armored-hide. The dinosaur exhibits hardly any speed or agility at all. An opponent who can move faster alone has a good chance at defeating Yongary. Either it saps up a lot of power or Yongary just isn't fond of his laser weapon, an attack that can easily help a fight end in his favor. But alas, Yongary isn't the brightest kaiju on 'Monster Island' (an expression), but he isn't the darkest either.
