Yanakagi

Height: 58 meters

Weight: 60,000 tons

Powers: Fangs, claws, tail swipes and the ability to sap the life force from whoever Yanakagi desires.

History: Long ago, Yanakagi faced the original Ultraman in the dark recesses of space. When the brave warrior from Nebula M78 succeeded in rendering the creature immobile, Ultraman went to Earth and kept the creature trapped inside a lake. Decades passed and a creature capable of traveling through space and time was eager to have a monster of his own to control. The creature that is likely of alien origin eventually traveled through time. Its journey learned of Ultraman imprisoning a monster known as Yanakagi in a lake. With the goals now nearly in his grasp, the being freed Yanakagi and ordered the monster to go on rampage. Yanakagi was eventually engaged by Ultraman Tiga, whose human form Daigo followed the being through time and allowed him to appear in the past. The two fought and for a while, it looked as if Ultraman Tiga would overcome Yanakagi, until the kaiju managed to get Ultraman Tiga in a position that he was powerless to break out of. Sucking the Warrior of Light of his life force, Yanakagi dined on Ultraman Tiga's energy. But with the help of Eiji Tsuburaya, who had kept a gift of friendship given to him by the original Ultraman, the warrior from Nebula M78 arrived immediately. Restoring Ultraman Tiga's health, the two Ultramen fended off the vicious kaiju and eradicated the beast.

Fighting Power: ****

In a physical confrontation, Yanakagi is above average. The kaiju exhibited the talent to go one-on-one with Ultraman Tiga and hold his own. While Ultraman Tiga and other monsters outclass Yanakagi in physical strength in the long run, Yanakagi's other attribute is capable of immobilizing any unsuspecting opponent who doesn't see it coming. Yanakagi is able to sap a being of their life force, becoming stronger and healthier; the same can't be applied to the victim. This alone allows Yanakagi to receive an above average rating. One of Yanakagi's flaws, however, is it depends entirely on its energy-sapping ability. Those given the same rating or higher have the best chance at besting Yanakagi in physical combat; thereby removing the energy-sapping attribute from the equation as a whole.
