Gaos

Height: 65 meters

Weight: 25 tons

Logical Weight: 25,000 tons (estimated)

Powers: Sonic beam from mouth, able to deploy a yellow-powder like substance from chest that can put out flammable-substances (uses wings to blow it farther), wings can flap and deliver a strong gust of wind that can blow an opponent away, capable of regenerating lost limbs in a few hours and its senses detects when the sun is going to rise--allowing Gaos to escape and seek refuge in darkness.

History: A massive earthquake catches a community off guard. To their dismay, an ancient creature awakens in the sepulcher of an underground cavern. The gigantic creature, whose name generates from that of the sound its horrifying cry makes, feeds upon the innocent villagers and whatever else gets in its way. Soon Gaos meets Gamera and the two gigantic behemoths duke it out. Gaos' sonic beams injure the giant tortoise in the process. Gamera later departs, saving the life of a little boy who nearly was devoured by Gaos' insatiable hunger.

Later, Gamera and Gaos meet again in Nagoya. The city is trampled in the process as they two giants duke it out in a rematch to remember. However, in a last ditch effort, Gaos was able to get away, because the sun was rising on the horizon. Luckily, Gamera was able to make the vampire bat remember that he means business after biting Gaos' foot off.

In the dark caverns, Gaos regenerates his wounds. But the scent of blood lures the ancient creature to the surface. To its eyes, a free feast of blood stands before his very eyes! Little does Gaos know, the blood was artificially created. Its only purpose is to serve as a diversion so Gaos would be caught in the sunlight and vanquished. The plan almost succeeds but then fails. Luckily, Gamera arrives one last time. The courageous reptile is able to subdue Gaos and drag the demonic bat into the mouth of an active volcano, killing the creature once and for all.

But who knowsanother Gaos could be lurking in the deepest deposits beneath the Earth's crust. Maybe another earthquake will occur and free the rest of the family?

Fighting Power: ****

At first glance, I'm sure you'd probably be thinking that Gaos is a weakling for being a Gamera villain. The false spectrum of this observation couldn't be more wrong. Gaos is in fact a menacing opponent to go up against. If you are a creature whose attacks govern that of heat, such as fire or other flammable substances, then Gaos is well capable at dousing the flames with its yellow-powder and making that attack worthless. Gaos' sonic beams are strong enough to easily pierce Gamera's skin and other hard substances. Even when Gamera was flying straight at him, Gaos was able to blow Gamera away with the swirling winds of his wings. And if an opponent ripped off a limb, Gaos would have that replaced within only a few hours. To top it all off, Gaos if need be would resort to physical combat and put up a good fight.

The only weakness is Gaos can't stand sunlight, heat-based attacks and bright lights. Though its skin can withstand high temperatures, it does distract the beast and send it into a state of panic. But luckily, if sunlight is about to rise, an organ in Gaos' head would warn the beast to seek shelter at once. If heat-based attacks do, however, prove to be a problem, deploying the yellow-mist from its chest would impede the attack.
