History: Attacked the Navy of the United Nations. They were carrying Evangelion Unit 2 to Japan. Its pilot, Asuka Langley, synchronized with her Evangelion and fought the massive Angel. The battle inevitable took place underwater, where the Evangelion was at a disadvantage. Gaghiel's massive jaws nearly swallowed Unit 2 whole. A plan was quickly set into motion. Two Navy Battleships were submerged beneath the water. Unit 2's umbilical cable was pulled in their direction, forcing Gaghiel to follow. Eva Unit 2, still trapped within the Angel's jaws, summoned enough strength to snap Gaghiel's jaws open. The gun barrels of the Battleships were plunged deep into Gaghiel's mouth, where they opened fire, decimating the Angel's core and destroying it forever. Fighting Power: **** Gaghiel's incredible mass allowed him to tangle with an Evangelion. Within his own undersea realm, Gaghiel certainly has the advantage. Gaghiel's razor-sharp teeth can easily pierce an Evangelion's armor effortlessly. But that is all Gaghiel has. This undersea Angel is huge, strong and quite capable of tearing its opponents apart; however, if Unit 2 possessed a projectile of any kind while trapped inside the mouth of the Angel, it would've been enough to kill it. This Angel's core isn't as resistant to damage as the others. If the opponent is a good swimmer and can survive Gaghiel's bone-snapping jaws, then the Angel's defeat shouldn't be that far off. |
