More pics of SYSTEM ONE!
Earnest Borgnine fears it, and so should you!
My first major modding project, Made primarily from a Nakamichi 400 series rack system I picked up at a flea market for $600.  Nak purists would probably kill me for tearing up such a fine piece of audio equipment, but those are the breaks. I spent $40 on a piece of lexan for the window, and dremeled for weeks to get the thing set up. Put the LCD monitor in first, made a shelf out of another stereo casing for the Shuttle XPC frame and drive cage to sit on, and decided to mount the harddrives vertically, just to be different.
The Edelbrock air-cleaner on top, ($20 of cool chrome) contains a 120mm fan and is ducted with 120mm aluminum flex hose directly to the intake for the Shuttle's heatpipe.
In the winter, I can stick the hose out the window and overclock to a screaming 3.06 ghz! (it's not too stable though)
Put together a windowed secondary PSU from some old junker to run the 10 fans this beast requires, plus the sound actuated purple neon.  When it's quiet, the vibrations from the harddrives set it off.
The soundcard is jacked into  the original Nakamichi power amp for sound.
