| God Visit by Diana Muro Ramirez Frankie in L.A. receives a message from God that he will visit earth in 30 days, and will arrive in Mexicali, Mexico, for a meeting with the world leaders, and Frankie has to inform them. God decides to grant three miracles for Frankie to prove the message is real, after which USA authorities are convinced, but the rest of the world thinks the USA wants to invade Mexico. Then God grants a very convincing around-the-world miracle. Minutes after the end, the world panics, and there is a 24-hour chaos. The next day, everybody wants to go to Mexicali to wait for God's visit. The world presidents meet at the UN, and decide to visit Mexicali to check the city, because nobody understands why God has chosen a small third world city for the summit. They can't enter because the city is in a crisis: jammed avenues and crowds of people everywhere. The presidents decide to go back to L.A., to continue the meeting, in which the current world political order plays a big part, and the countries fight for control over the event. Three days before the visit, Mexicali blacks out, because the electricity demands are too much. The world's agenda for the summit fills several rooms. God's agenda has only one word: "environment." Overwhelmed with the problems that the visit created, the leaders are exhausted and desperate because they can't get anything the way they want. They send Frankie to tell God to postpone the visit, or not to visit at all. God is not welcome on earth. God laughs, and comes the next day. When the summit begins, God refuses to see the world's agenda, and explains how everything they are asking for is human's fault, and we can fix it. Then God brings up his agenda, reprimanding humans for the harm done to the environment. Finally God leaves with a messsage of love for us, and a plea to take better care of the planet. Why wait for God's visit? |
