Do
You Trust Me?
For Every Parent
said the Shepherd to the lamb. Do you trust me to finish what I began? Do you remember that you trusted me when you said “Yes” to my beckoning? You trusted me when I called you , and you said, “ Lead me, I will go.” You trusted me way back then, back down that path, not knowing where it led, so many years ago... You trusted me when life at times seemed hopeless, and despair was your attendant. You trusted me when hopelessness turned to hope, and blessings became unexpectedly abundant...... You trusted me when you just didn’t know, what choices to make, what was really right, what thoughts to have, and what direction you should go..... You trusted me when your heart was so heavy, and you were certain it would break. You trusted me when no other would call on Me for your sake...... You trusted me when life became fragile, and so many were misunderstanding you. You trusted me when each time all that was securely unyielding, evaporated into a misty hue......... You trusted me when your burdens were great and you carried your own little ones along. You trusted me when you felt you were useless as you sang those babes that melancholy Mom-heart song. You trusted me as you knelt by their bedside and sobbed over their souls. You said bring it on me, all the burdens, the cares, the woes. But just one thing I ask for them. just make them ,in you, to be perfectly whole....... Bring their steps, each and every one, a little bit closer to Your heart, a little closer to Heaven, and from them, please Lord, never part... Bring it on me, I’ll stand in the gap for them, my little ones, I’ll carry their load as my own until Your work in them is done....... And so now, do you trust me? Do you trust me now that it is time, for them to set out on their own? Do you trust me to take them down the road with the road map you have shown? “Do you trust me?” said the Shepherd to the lamb. Do you trust me to finish what I began? Can you remember that your hope, and theirs’, is always and forever in My hand? Do you trust me when their heart is breaking? And, folly has come their way? Do you know that I won’t forget them, and just like you, I’ll bring them to a better day? Do you trust me to forgive them, when they have chosen amiss? Do you trust me to make it all work through and seal it all with an holy kiss? Do you trust me, said the Shepherd to the lamb. Do you trust me to finish what I began? .............
