January First! There is something about the new year that evokes resolutions in mankind. Many will vow to stop smoking, drinking, lose that extra weight, or get their finances in order. Rarely, do these resolutions find themselves lively beyond the very month of which they were inspired..... |
But, the best way to start and finish any endeavour is to begin and end with God. When we focus on God and His will for our lives, the rest will follow. We may want to begin the new year with a new daily devotion. One great sources would be Charles Spurgeon's "Morning and Evening Devotional." It consists of two or three paragraphs with scripture.
