January First!

There is something about the new year that evokes resolutions in mankind. Many will vow to stop smoking, drinking, lose that extra weight, or get their finances in order. Rarely, do these resolutions find themselves lively beyond the very month of which they were inspired.....

But, the best way to start and finish any endeavour is to begin and end with God. When we focus on God and His will for our lives, the rest will follow. We may want to begin the new year with a new daily devotion. One great sources would be Charles Spurgeon's "Morning and Evening Devotional." It consists of two or three paragraphs with scripture. It is easy to understand and deeply thought provoking.

Others Ideas ;

  • Celebrate another year of God's faithfulness!

  • Begin a prayer goal with your children, and {or}mate.

  • If your family devotions seem dry, try simple bible stories, creative writing, skits, or other creative things that your family may come up with.

  • Some may be offended by this, but if you find your children bored or whiney during family devotions, it may be time to live your devotional.
