'were i god'
taken  from
GOD02
- arson addictions.
Were I God
I would not extend my hand from the scratched sky
and snap two Biblical fingers
ending war, pestilence and famine.

Were I The Man Upstairs
I would not stare at a big clock
'til it was time to punish the wicked.

Instead I would stay upstairs in a ball,
lips shut tight,
so smart people would think I didn't exist
and make their own lives
and live their own luck
So I could pat them gently on the back when they see me
and say 'Don't be afraid -
This
is how I always
planned it.'

I am the master of my fate: /
I am the captain of my soul
