In the Holy Word of God we have many warnings about Satan and the Devil: how he operates; and why. In... 2 Cor. 11:14-15; we can read,...And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
One way he tries to deceives people is to take true scriptures and make them sound like something they are not. He does this by taking verses out of content of which they were written. Or he tries to change the meaning of God's word to fit his lies.
Those who know the Lord, and read their Bible; know that Satan is the Father of all lies, a deceiver, the author of confusion, and the one who brings about evil temptations; etc. Satans job is to try to destroy the relationship between God and Man.
If the Devil and Satan can decieve a soul in one area of thought or doctrine. Then it stands to reason he can deceive that same soul; in another thought, word, or deed.
We should take a look at some of the many verses he likes to uses to decieve people, into thinking he is something that he is not.
In Isaiah 14:12-15; it says,...How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning ! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations ! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
In Ezekiel 28:14-17; we can read,...Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
These are some of the verses Satan tries to use to say he was in Heaven with God, and then was cast out. But first let us look at other verses before and after to see just who Isaiah and Ezekeil were really writing about.
Going back to Isaiah 14:4-17; It really reads,...That thou shalt take up this PROVERB against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased! The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers. He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth. The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing. Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us. Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? Art thou become like unto us? Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee..... How art thou fallen from heaven, O LUCIFER, son of the morning ! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
Notice that in ALL of these verses;....God is talking about the... KING OF BABYLON, not the Devil and Satan !!!
AND THE DEVILS NAME IS NOT LUCIFER !!! Lucifer was the name given to the King of Babylon Not Satan !!!
The Devil and Satan tries to use these scriptures also to disguise himself into having once looked so beautiful, then being cast out of Heaven. But first let us back up and read some other verses written before and try to understand who Ezekiel was really talking about. |
