Samples/Keyboards |
Full Name: Craig Jones
Date of Birth: February 11
Nickname: 133 (133MHz)
Equipment:
Korg microKONTROL midi studio controller
Mask: Craigs first mask was just pantyhose over his head, with a SPAM
T-Shirt.. Eventually he got an old gas station helmet, painted it black, put
nails through it, and eventually added a flash light. In IOWA craig got a
rubber, bondage style mask with a zipper over the mouth, and thicker longer
nails. Currently for Vol 3, his mask hasn't changed except for the nails which
now are longer, and move more freely to loosen the pressure.
Side Project: None
About: Craig is the one you never hear about, alot of you want to know
what he does in the band, i always hear people say "Craigs not important", "WTF
is sampling?", well we all love the intro to SiC, 515, of course the new Prelude
3.0, and the keyboards in duality.. this is the result of Craig Jones. His
working is using audio techinics, and sound clips, even clips from movies, to
make slipknot great, so dont take him for granite. Craig used to be the
webmaster of slipknot1.com, he worked on it with his wife, till he quit after he
divorced his wife. Thats why the site has been unavailable for so long, and why
the site sucks right now... Craig is a very anonymous guy, he doesnt usually
party around with the band but secludes himself and sits in front of a computer.
When he plays quake 3 he uses the name ZZ 5 along with his own personal skin
that looks like him. He avoids interviews and has been none to cover his eyes
with leather in photographs to prevent people from seeing his eyes.
Slipknot On Craig:
Joey- "He's a bum-arsed computer hacker and he will kill you dude. He'll kill
me. He's the unabomber. I don't know why hes on samples but he just came to
practice and no-one had the balls to tell him to leave."
Jim- "Don't worry, he even scares me. I kind of feel I'm doing a service to the
community by knowing where Craig is from day to day."
Other Information: Other Stuff: "A long time ago, back when they were
playing at Mary's, someone did get a little close to getting hurt. Someone came
up from behind him and startled him. He can't hear a lot in that mask because
it's pretty airtight. When they came up behind him, they were wanting his
autograph and they tapped him on his shoulder. He wasn't expecting anyone to
come up behind him and he whipped around a little and one of the nails on his
mask got caught in a chick standing next to him's hair. It took Paul and Shawn
just a few seconds to get them untangled. That's as close to anything that I
know of as far as any incidents with Craig's masks."
"Very quiet, the epitome of Killers Are Quiet. I remember him going with me and
some others to the 1988 And Justice for All - Metallica/The Cult concert. My
car's radiator blew on the way home." Craig didn't record MFKR, although his pic
is in the inside sleeve of the album. The samples were put together by Anders
and producer Sean Mcmahon after MFKR was recorded. Not many people know this but
Craig actually joined the band as a guitarist to take over Donnie Steele's
Position. His sampling was integrated into the mfkr songs for example the song
gently started off with a sample from the movie "Falling down" featuring the
conversation between "d-fens" and the army surplus Nazi."
Ex-bands/side projects: Played guitar in thrash metal bands before
Slipknot.
Josh/Joey/Craig - Modifidious: In this band he played guitar as a replacement
for Bruce who had left to join Atomic Opera. This is how he met Joey.
