She agreed and start to continue her story, "Well, the rumor was about I
used witchcraft to turn Barbarosa to fall in love with me, and asked birds to
help me to pick lentils between the good ones and the bad ones. Also, birds
poked out one eye from each of my sisters was my idea for their punishment.
Although I tried to explain to people that those were not witchcraft, but there
was no way to denied what had happened. As soon this rumor had spread out
to all kingdoms, Barbarosa began to distrust me and taken another wife. Three
years later, they have two children, one male and one female. Again, I shared
the same fate as I was when I lived with my father and the wicked stepmother
and sisters. About seven years later, after these children were born, the
Kingdom of Barbarosa had engaged a war to against the neighbor kingdom for
more territory. Barbarosa was leading the army, yet failed and left his dream
unfulfilled before he passed away. The new wife saw this as an opportunity to
come to power by letting her son to become the next king, and installed her as
the new queen. Of course she didn't forget me and sent me to exile. I thought
I would be able to leave the kingdom peacefully and unharm, but I was wrong.
She sent a troop to kill me at any cost and that's when you showed up, Flynn,
to save me from danger. You said you will remain in the kingdom and
overthrow it when the time is right. Although many years have passed, it is not
important for me to go back anymore."
You listen to her story and realize what she had gone through. It is
something you didn't know from reading the story. Suddenly, the window is
starting to break. The old woman didn't wait for my response and she starts to
open the door. What you see behind the door are two children: one male and
one female. You beginning to ask yourself, "Are these two kids Hansel and
Gretel?" (Are you...) |
