In March of 2003, the Service Men and Women of America went to war with Iraq. We were certain that it would be victorious and it was. The Service Men and Women were flooded with letters, packages and thanks yous. Soon enough President Bush declared the war over. In utmost respect to our Prez, I think he was wrong. They are still fighting over there and some of them have even died for our country. And with little thanks from us.
We owe them so much. My family and I do pray for them daily, but sometimes we can do even more. Asking God if He would remember our service men and women is great, but they need more than just rememberance. They need God's loving care, his protection, guidance on missions, safety, help, phyiscal healing, emmotional healing, peace, joy, love, and the list goes on and on. Not only do they appreciate thoughts and prayers, I know they'd love to have a letter of thanks or a package. They'd really love that.
They need a word of encouragement. When the war started, they were getting barrels and barrels of mail, now some are lucky if they just get a few a month. How much time would it take out of our day just to sit down and write a letter of thanks? I'm not just asking you, I'm asking myself. I'm just as guilty!
It's not just the ones in Iraq who have been forgotten! Don't forget Afghanistan! I'm sure our men and women are still over there keeping the peace!
So please join me and my family and support out troops!!!!!!! Below are links to websites that can put us in contact with a soldier.
