It's obvious that we are facing war. The troops have been sent over, Bush made a speech saying that war will start soon, and everything seems like it is happening all at once. A lot of people are protesting against war saying it's wrong and evil and that we shouldn't do it. I know it sounds different from what most would say, but maybe this is what God is wanting. Saddam is a very evil mad man. He is a dictator and a coward. Saddam does have chemical and biological weapons, there are proof of that. He uses them on his own people. Maybe God is wanting Saddam out of there. Maybe it prophecy that this should happen.
As Christians we need to support this country. I keep hearing about protests and name calling and disagreeing with President Bush. Yeah, we have that priveledge to do that. But what about those who are willing to go over there and fight for us? If it wasn't for our service men and women, Saddam would continue to do evil. We have the right to speak against our government and our President. We can protest and boycott, it's out God given right. But over in a Iraq, they have no rights. They don't have the luxury of protesting or disagreeing with that mad man. If they do, they could be tortured or mudered even. We have a choice of serving this country, but over there they don't. They are forced to fight for their country. We are so lucky and we don't even realize it. I support our President and the people who are fighting for us. I don't have the guts that they do, to go over there and fight, but they do. If I don't want to fight, the least I can do is support them. And that's what I'm going to do.
People keep saying war is evil; yes sometimes it is. But God had the children of Israel go to war and attack the people who were living in their land. Remember Ecclesiastes 3:1-2(a), 8(b) "There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die... a time for war and a time for peace."
But during war, God will protect us. He will not leave us or forsake us. In Psalm 27:1-3, when David was scared and afraid he wrote this Psalm. "The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, they will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident."
God will not leave us while we are in war. God gave us something very special to help us along. He gave us His son, Jesus. Jesus said something very supportive in Matthew telling us not to worry about things. It's in Matthew 6:25, 27. "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes... Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
There are so many verses through out the Bible that talk about prayer and worrying. And I think these verses can help everyone who is afraid. Here are a list of the verses that can help. They have to do with war, trusting God, prayer, and anxiety. If you ever get worried or wonder try look some of these up in your Bible.
Psalm 27All these verses help me and I hope they help you. There are many more verses in the Bible. I will add them later God Bless!
