| YMCA B 5-4 Argentina Chris (3), Peter Pressy Chris miss Pen (2) Going into the match the voodoo that saw the B side's record on the opening day meant that 2 out of two defeats against Argentina and Talking Heads was going to be playing on the mind of the staff. Going into the match the Bullets were prepared for a fight to the finish after last season's double score draws against the young side. Anyone could be forgiven for thinking the result of this match was already a forgone "number 3" on the pools coupons. The match has been in all previous encounters a tale of two keepers, and to some extent, was less that tale this time round. Things took a turn for the worse on the YMCA B front as Argentina went into a two goal lead and the score was 4-1 by half time. It looked like nothing short of a miracle was going to get the Bullets back in the game. Late arriving defender Roddy, who made his appearance at half time, clearly affected the game for the better. In the second half, the comeback from the Bullets was nothing short of miraculous, and in the final minute they managed to win the match, clearly the best ever comeback by The Bullets. Chirs had a mixed game, despite his hattrick, he some how destroyed his perfect record at penalties by missing TWO in the same match, one hitting the bar, the other the post. The Bullets keeper hadn't a single save to make in the second half (maybe thats for the better!) and the capabilities showed. Would it be fair to criticise? Nah, the Bullets will just lay back and take pride in a result that saw the poor record of two defeats and two draws against Argentina extingushied and now they have a win in the column. In the meanwhile, we can only hope of similar luck as The Bullets take on the champions Talking Heads. John ?, Peter 8, Roddy 8, Chris 7, Pressy 8, Ellis 7. |
