Q.
Dear Skin Care Counselor,
Good day!
I’m Vienne, 21 years old. I appear more mature than my age because of the
blemishes on my face and the stress from work I face everyday. Now pimples are
becoming my problem. These pimples are not large or reddish but they ruin my
face.
I even
have to use a thicker amount of pressed powder just to hide them. I also have
large pores and oily skin.
Please
help me how to eliminate these many small pimples on my face and not have oily,
large-pored skin.
--Vienne, Philippines
A.
Dear Vienne,
Long-term stress has intense
effects on skin. Many skin problems, such as eczema and rashes worsen when a
person is under pressure. And there are some people who experience breakouts
when stressed.
Large pores are an innate
problem, which tend to increase the more in size as we grow older. No
formulation or technology yet could decrease pore size. Even micro-dermbrasion
is temporary. The news however is they mat be made less visible through the use
of
Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA).
Oily skin can develop when
changes in hormones increase the amount of sebum produced. It causes skin
greasiness, with visible pores and persistent acne.
To bring back skin's natural
and youthful glow at the shortest time possible, we recommend you follow the
Godiva Anti-Blemish Regimen:
1. Wash your face with
Godiva Anti-Blemish Transparent Soap to
dissolve excess oil. Rinse well, preferably with warm water.
2. After cleansing, moisten
cotton pad with Godiva Anti-Blemish Astringent.
Stroke all over face and other affected areas.
3. Apply
Godiva Anti-Blemish Cream over acne-prone areas
and spot apply over acne scars.
4. Follow this regimen twice
daily until your skin clears up. After that, you may reduce to once-a-day
application for maintenance.
Godiva
Anti-Blemish products work effectively in minimizing acne breakouts
because they target the causes of acne's existence -- oily skin, plugged skin
pores and bacterial attack. They mainly contain
licochalcone from licorice extract which reduces skin oiliness and
wipes out bacteria. Its fruit acid content also keeps pores clean of debris and
dead cells, which causes pores to appear much larger. With pores unplugged of
oil, there is little room for bacteria to grow on and large pores become less
visible. Oily skin is less likely to break out as well.
To cope with daily stress,
remember to observe a regular exercise program,
take vitamins,
practice time management and eat nutritious
foods. Also, cut back on caffeine, which can increase feelings of
anxiety. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water
is best for the skin, Remember that your skin shows an indication of how healthy
you are inside and out.
Yours truly,
Skin Care Counselor

Debunk SPF Myths!
The higher
the SPF, the better the sun protection? Not really. SPF
or Sun Protection Factor
measures only
protection against UVB rays, the ones responsible for sunburn. And it does
not gauge a product's effectiveness
against UVA rays which cause aging, and which should be a greater concern.
That's why
when choosing a sunblock, look for one that provides broad-spectrum protection
or protects against both UVA and UVB rays. In addition to SPF rating, look for
PA+++ to be assured of maximum protection against UVA rays.
You can get
all these, plus more, from
Godiva Green Tea Sunblock Cream SPF
25+ PA+++ in new 60 tube packaging.
It contains zinc oxide,
nature’s original sunblock and the ONLY
sunscreen that works throughout the UV spectrum for complete sun protection.
Plus, you
get broad-spectrum protection from the harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun,
while fighting free radicals with its green tea extract. In addition to its high
SPF, it has PA+++ so you’re assured of maximum
protection against UVA rays.
Apply the
sunblock daily over the face, neck and arms with gentle circular motion until
the cream vanishes into a matte finish. Let dry for 30 minutes before sun
exposure. A single application is sufficient for all-day protection. However,
you must reapply if the sunblock is wiped off.
