Tanning Facts
 When you are
exposed to the sun, your skin becomes darker. This is the skin's way of seeking
to safeguard itself against sun damage. Sunlight stimulates the melanocytes to
produce more of the protective pigment melanin, and that causes the tan.
Most of the
damage done by the sun is irreversible. Although temporary effects, such as
sunburn, soon fade, the long-term harm may not show up until many years later.
Sun damage can
make your skin appear worn, wrinkled and leathery, with redness and dryness. It
also causes telangiectasia (spider veins), age spots and sun spots.
Avoid tanning
now and start protecting your skin from the sun's harmful rays by using
sunscreen. To get the broadest range of protection possible, just take a look at
the active ingredients listed on the product label. See the chart below to find
out the range of some active ingredients.
As you can see from the chart, zinc oxide provides
the broadest range against UV rays. Moreover,
zinc oxide,
nature's original sunblock, is the only sunscreen that works throughout the UV
spectrum. It is a safer and more effective alternative to chemical sunscreens.
It acts as an invisible barrier that scatters UV radiation away from the skin
rather than allowing its harmful energy to be absorbed. With Godiva's new
technology, zinc oxide is now available in ultrafine transparent form called
Z-block, which you can experience with the
Godiva Green Tea Sunblock Cream. Try it

Wake your face!
Sleep allows your skin to repair itself in many
ways. When you sleep, your skin mends itself from some of the damage caused by
ultra-violet rays during the day.
Your skin also rehydrates itself as the fluid that
accumulates in your lower legs during the day re-equilibrates up toward your
neck and face. Morever, blood supply to your head and neck increases as you lay
down during the night.
Tossing and turning all night can really show on
your face the next morning in the form of blotchy skin, lines and wrinkles, and
red puffy eyes with dark circles. So, look rested and refreshed with these fast
fixes.
Exercise! Twenty minutes of running, fast walking or aerobics will increase
blood flow to your face. No time? Try just five minutes of jumping jacks.

Take a shower with an energizing body scrub and a nylon loofah. Let the spray
massage tension away. Switch to cool water for the final rinse.
Hide undereye circles and blemishes by dabbing yellow or skin-tone concealer on blue
undereye circles. Stay away from lighter skin tone or white cover-ups.
