GOD FOR BEGINNERS
Who is God?
Why Do I Need Him?
What Do I Do Now?
Anything Else?
The Bible is God's letter to man. If the Bible is true (historical book/factual) then people must take what God (it) says seriously. God says he is the creator of the universe (Genesis). He is eternal (before anything existed God already existed). The Father of Jesus Christ (throughout the bible). He loves all people.
God says man is separated from him because of sin (God hates sin). We need God because we are sinful (not perfect). We cannot keep the 10 commandments. If we could we would not need God or His son Jesus. What is the answer to our sinful condition?
JESUS CHRIST truly is the answer. He was the substitute for us on the cross. We should have hung on the cross for our own sins but he took our punishment out of love for us. That is an unconditional love without measure. But we must respond to that love by faith in His son Jesus. "That Christ died for us while we were still sinners." (Romans 5:8).  By accepting Jesus through faith in our hearts (not just head knowledge) and living for him we can receive His gift of grace and become sons and daughters of God. You can do this right now with a simple prayer if you wish: Dear God I know I am not perfect and have sinned (done wrong). I ask you to forgive and cleanse me of my sin right now. I accept your son Jesus by faith into my heart right now. I pray you would show me your will/plan for my life that I may know the purpose you have created me for. I thank you for Jesus who died on the cross for me (and took on my sins/wrong) and rose again on the third day with resurrection power. I pray the same power of the Holy Spirit would enter me now. I thank you for accepting me as one of your own. Thank you now that I can spend all of eternity with you in heaven. Thank you for this free gift of love to me. Help me to love you fully in return. Amen! .
Three things will help you grow closer to God:
1. Read the bible daily-learn who God is and who you are in Him. The bible is the source of information for this web page. These facts are not made up from the mind of a man. They come from God through the bible. The bible is God's manual for us to live life by so we can be happy (spiritually) and make others happy (spiritually). These things can be learned by reading the bible for yourself and going to church to listen to  sermons/teachings  on the bible.
2.Pray-talk to God like you talk to a close friend (who you respect). Tell him what's on your heart (worries, troubles, good things that happen and anything else you think a close friend would want to hear) and mind. Ask Him to forgive your sins when you make a mistake or do wrong. Thank Him for the good things He has given you and all the good things He has done for you. Ask Him to guide your decisions and give you strength for the day. Ask Him to make you the person He wants you to be in this life.  God is now your best friend and He is listening intently to your prayers!
3. Go to Church-you will meet others who have accepted Jesus and the pastor will teach you the bible. Not everyone who goes to church has accepted Christ but many there already have. The other Christians will encourage and support you in your christian walk. Do these things and you will grow more like the Master every day.
God bless you and email me if you have any questions. I will pray for all those who visit this site (even if they don't accept Christ). You can submit prayer requests if you like. Again, I will pray for you and so will other christians! You are loved!
