[12] THE BIBLE, MATTHEW 2:19-23 - Later, when Herod died, God's angel appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt: "Up, take the child and his mother and return to Israel. All those out to murder the child are dead." Joseph obeyed. He got up, took the child and his mother, and reentered Israel....On arrival, he settled in the village of Nazareth. This move was a fulfillment of the prophetic words, "He shall be called a Nazarene."

[14] THE BIBLE, LUKE 2:41, 42, 47 - Every year Jesus' parents traveled to Jerusalem for the Feast of Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up as they always did for the Feast....The teachers were all quite taken with him, impressed with the sharpness of his answers.

[20] RABBI SOLOMON GANZFRIED, CODE OF JEWISH LAW, VOL. I, pg. 125-127 - Before eating bread over which the benediction Hamotzi is said, one must wash his hands first. If the bread is no less than the size of an egg, he must say the benediction for washing hands....The water used for washing the hands must be poured out of a vessel that is perfect, having neither a hole nor a crack....
After washing both hands, we rub them together and then raise them upward....then, before drying them, we recite the benediction....
Before washing the hands, we must examine them to make sure that there is no coating on them, as that would be an obstruction between the hands and the water.
[21] THE BIBLE, MARK 7:1-4a - The Pharisees, along with some religion scholars who had come from Jerusalem, gathered around him. They noticed that some of his disciples weren't being careful with ritual washings before meals. The Pharisees ~ Jews in general, in fact ~ would never eat a meal without going through the motions of a ritual hand-washing, with an especially vigorous scrubbing if they had just come from the market.
[22] THE BIBLE, MARK 7:6-7- Jesus answered, "Isaiah was right about frauds like you, hit the bull's-eye in fact: 'These people make a big show of saying the right thing, but their heart isn't in it. They act like they are worshiping me, but they don't mean it. They just use me as a cover for teaching whatever suits their fancy, ditching God's command and taking up the latest fads.'"
[23] THE BIBLE, MARK 7:8-13 - He went on, "Well, good for you. You get rid of God's command so you won't be inconvenienced in following the religious fashions! Moses said, 'Respect your father and mother,' and 'Anyone denouncing father or mother should be killed. But you weasel out of that by saying that it's perfectly acceptable to say to father or mother, 'Gift! What I owed you I've given as a gift to God,' thus relieving yourselves of obligation to father or mother. You scratch out God's Word and scrawl a whim in its place. You do a lot of things like this."
[24] THE BIBLE, MATTHEW 2:16 - Herod, when he realized that the scholars [wise men] had tricked him, flew into a rage. He commanded the murder of every little boy two years old and under who lived in Bethlehem and its surrounding hills. (He determined that age from information he'd gotten from the scholars.)
[25] THE BIBLE, LUKE 10:28-29 - "Good answer!" said Jesus. "Do it and you'll live." Looking for a loophole, he asked, "And just how would you define 'neighbor'?"
[26] THE BIBLE, LUKE 10:30-35 - Jesus answered by telling a story. "There was once a man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho. On the way he was attacked by robbers. They took his clothes, beat him up, and went off leaving him half-dead. Luckily, a priest was on his way down the same road, but when he saw him he angled across to the other side. Then a Levite religious man showed up; he also avoided the injured man. A Samaritan traveling the road came on him. When he saw the man's condition, his heart went out to him. He gave him first aid, disinfecting and bandaging his wounds. Then he lifted him on to his donkey, led him to an inn, and made him comfortable. In the morning he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take good care of him. If it costs any more, put it on my bill ~ I'll pay you on my way back.' "
[27] THE BIBLE, Luke 10:36-37 - What do you think? Which of the three became a neighbor to the man attacked by robber?" "The one who treated him kindly," the religion scholar responded. Jesus said, "Go and do the same."
[28] THE BIBLE, LUKE 2:1-6 - About that time Caesar Augustus ordered a census to be taken throughout the Empire. This was the first census when Quirinius was governor of Syria. Everyone had to travel to his own ancestral hometown to be accounted for. So Joseph went from the Galilean town of Nazareth up to Bethlehem in Judah, David's town, for the census. As a descendant of David, he had to go there. He went with Mary, his fiance, who was pregnant. While they were there, the time came for her to give birth.
[29] THE BIBLE, MARK 12:35-37 - While he was teaching in the Temple, Jesus asked, "How is it that the religion scholars say that the Messiah is David's 'son,' when we all know that David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said, 'God said to my Master, "Sit here at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet." David here designates the Messiah 'my Master' ~ so how can the Messiah also be his 'son'?" The large crowd was delight with what they heard.
[30] THE BIBLE, ISAIAH 9:6 [PREDICTED 700 YEARS EARLIER] - For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
[31] THE BIBLE, MATTHEW 23:1-4 - Now Jesus turned to address his disciples, along with the crowd that had gathered with them. "The religion scholars and Pharisees are competent teachers in God's Law. You won't go wrong in following their teachings on Moses. But be careful about following them. They talk a good line, but they don't live it. They don't take it into their hearts and live it out in their behavior. It's all spit-and-polish veneer."
[32] THE BIBLE, MATTHEW 23:5-8 - "Instead of giving you God's Law as food and drink by which you can banquet on God, they package it in bundles of rules, loading you down like pack animals. They seem to take pleasure in watching you stagger under these loads, and wouldn't think of lifting a finger to help. Their lives are perpetual fashion shows, embroidered prayer shawls one day and flowery prayers the next. They love to sit at the head table at church dinners, basking in the most prominent positions, preening in the radiance of public flattery, receiving honorary degrees, and getting called 'Doctor' and 'Reverend.' "  SEE ALSO PSALM 111:9 [KJV] - He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant forever: holy and reverend is his name.
[33] THE BIBLE, NUMBERS 15:38-39; RABBI SOLOMON GANZFRIED, CODE OF JEWISH LAW, VOL. I, pg. 26-34 - Speak to the Israelites and say to them: "Throughout the generations to come you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments with a blue cord on each tassel....so you will remember all the commands of the Lord...."The first garment which a male must put on, is the tallit katan (the small four-fringed garment, commonly known as the arba kanfoth, four-cornered), for one is not allowed to walk even as much as four cubits without having a fringed garment on. But as his hands are still unwashed, he may not say the benediction on putting it on."
[34] THE BIBLE, MATTHEW 23:8-12 - Don't let people do that to you, put you on a pedestal like that. You all have a single Teacher, and you are all classmates. Don't set people up as experts over your life, letting them tell you what to do. Save that authority for God; let him tell you what to do. No one else should carry the title of 'Father'; you have only one Father, and he's in heaven.
[35] THE BIBLE, ACTS 24:1-9 - Within five days, the Chief Priest Ananias arrived with a contingent of leaders, along with Tertullus, a trial lawyer. They presented the governor with their case against [the Apostle] Paul. When Paul was called before the court, Tertullus spoke for the prosecution: "Most Honorable Felix....We've found this man time and again disturbing the peace, stirring up riots against Jews all over the world, the ringleader of a seditious sect called Nazarenes [Jesus was of Nazareth]. He's a real bad apple, I must say. We caught him trying to defile our holy Temple and arrested him."
