How can I work on getting certifications in information technology while I'm going to school?
That's a good question. I know that Microsoft ADO.NET has a lot of SQL in it, but there are course and books out there for those certifications. Look on Ebay, these books are selling for way under markey value. Just make sure you get the books that are up to date. A book I have been referencing a lot is Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Programming For Dummies. It has been helping a lot. Other than that do you have Microsoft Outlook at work? I'm sure you can think of a few SQL queries that would make your life and the people around you a little more pleasant if you could create a few SQL queries that automatically sort the incoming mail (look up rules in Outlook.) This is a practical every day use that might get you some attention from your employer.
