Mano Yohko is a 16 year old high school student, who is part of a very old family. She's the 108th generation of the Mano clan who have been defending Japan against "yoma" (demons, devils, etc). The Manor clan is a family full of Devil Hunters, and Yohko is to be trained by her grandmother, Madoka, to be one of them.
Yohko has a partner in training, Kanzaki Azusa, who is also a Devil Hunter (she's like a side-kick). Madoka is also by Yohko's side, but Yohko's mother, Sayoko, doesn't want to believe any of it.
Yohko's largest enemy, surprisingly, isn't particularly a yoma, but rather a relative. Mano Ayako is the granddaughter of Chiaki, Madoka's sister. Ayako believes she is to be the 108th generation Devil Hunter...so who becomes the Devil Hunter? Yohko or Ayako?
