It all starts with a high school boy, Morisato Keiichi, who's hungry at home with nothing to eat. He tries calling for food delivery, but is surprised to reach "The Goddess Relief Office." He explains that he called the wrong number, but just as he's about to hang up, a goodess comes through his mirror. This goddess is Belldandy.
Belldandy tells him taht she will grant him one wish. As a joke, Keiichi says, "I wish I had a Goddess just like you." Belldandy thought that he meant her, so she granted his wish by telling him she would stay with him forever.
Thus begins this romance comedy.
