Favorite Anime Characters: Sailor Mars (that's a given), Sailor Jupiter, Pluto, Moon(she is a ditz that can't chew gum and walk at the same time ^_^ ,which makes her kinda funny), Saturn (she can destroy a planet, which is sort of scary), Chibi Chibi(aw, she's so cute), Chibi-Moon (cute too!), Belldandy, Master Roshi, etc. (If I keep listing them, there won't be room for my Bio! ^_^)
I am currently studying to become a music teacher/performer at the ever so lovely Carroll Community College (more like a continuance of corn field high). I hope to transfer out ASAP as soon as I can get my credits in alignement.
One day I was channel surfing and came across these girl cartoon characters that had big eyes and they were dressed in synchronized outfits in different colors. Thought there was nothing else interesting on so why not watch? Well it became addicting, end of story.
Than in my senior year of high school I end up in a class with Brittany (Pluto) and we start talking about Sailor Moon and she showed me pics of her dressed as Pluto at Otakon 2002. I had no idea that there was conventions for anime as well as people being allowed to dress up as an anime character. Of course I asked more about cosplaying and stuff, and before you know it I was buying material for a sailor costume. I was going to go as Saturn because Brit thought it would be a good idea for us to stay with the outer theme since the inners were too common. And I liked Saturn to begin with because she was mysterious. To make a long story short, crap happened with some members and I ended up going as Mars instead. Which was no biggie since Mars was an awesome character and I think that Avian does a better Saturn. I particularly like Rei Hino because she can predict the future, which is wicked cool, and she can light her enemies on fire! We also are alike simply because she desires to be a professional singer, but in my case a professional instrumentalist. She knows what she wants out of life and her family is her number one priority.
So here I am. Gonna attend Otakon for a second time! I love cosplaying because its not only about looking like the character but acting like the character as well. It is so neat to go to these functions because you can meet new people that share a common interest and all the costumers worship one another for putting on a good show! So if anyone would be interested in cosplaying, word of advice: Just Do It (wait that logo was already taken, oops! I don't own Nike so don't sue me!). It's well worth the time and effort. And if you do consider going, go with a group of friends so that way you all can share the experience and have a BLAST!
