The moon's cycle is one of the grounding blocks of most pagan beliefs and the practise of magick. By performing a spell under the correct phase of the moon's cycle or when the moon is in the correct sign will significantly boost any spell or ritual.

The moon has nine phases; new, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full, waning gibbous, third quarter, waning crescent and the dark moon.

The moon switches sign approximately each two and a half days with a period at which it is 'void of course' and under the influence of no sign. This a a period not to act but to be; otherwise the moon remains under the influence of the twelve zodiac; Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.
