| ~Episode Six~ Bad Ass Challenge |
| ~Part Five~ Kassies head was all a cloud of coffee and sleeplessness. Not wondering if she wanted to get news or not. She had no idea how this had happened. They had only been back from the freaked out time warp still none the wiser about what had gone down or who was behind it. Now she sat by Doms beside in the hospital waiting for some change. 3 Days ago she had opened her heart up to Dom. She was willingly to let him love her the way he wanted too, when not 5 minutes after amping back into this messed up world they were straight back in it with a Demon all ugly and spiny messing with a very weird blind woman. 5 minutes man, I havent even been home yet. Kassie looked skyward "Who ever youre talking too. I dont think they care. Dom informed her. Both stood in front of the demon sizing it up. It stood about 2 feet higher than they did and about 3 feet wider. It looks like a spikey bloody cave troll. Kassie commented. It was holding the old lady by her face about ready to either suck face with the old broad or suck her eyes out. Either way it needed to die. Well now we have a problem. Kassie said to Dom Whats that Angel? No weapons. She replied Good point. Both looked around the alley There's that. Dom pointed to an old trash can with a mop handle in it. Ill have the mop you take out the trash. Kassie smirked, At least the handle is like a Bo and I know what Im doing with that. Thanks Dom replied sarcastically then added, I think our best bet would be to distract the demon get the lady. Dont think Dom it might hurt. Kassie laughed But that is a good plan anyway, I have one question though. She looked at the old lady and the demon thoughtfully, We get her down then what? Run away like there's a demon on our ass. He smiled picking up the trashcan and approached the demon with Kassie in tow. Hey asswipe Kassie bellowed Put the lady down the demon turned it head to see where the noise was coming from a look of malevolence was on his face. Stay away girl this is no business of yours. It's voice booming and brusque Its more my business than you think mate. It's only reply was a booming rumble of a laugh that shook the ground. Listen to the lady, she may have to hurt you. Dom spoke up A pair of heroes, must be part of the shadow order. No matter you will be finished soon enough. It turned its girth towards them. Time to clean up. Kassie twirled the stick around her body and swung it out to fit along her tricep and she readied herself. Take out the trash huh? Dom laughed hoisting the trash can over his head and throwing it right square at the demon. The hit struck home on the demons arm, forcing him to let go of the old lady. Now considering the circumstances the little old lady seemed to be too calm for someone who was about to die any second had Dom and Kassie not arrived. She was a little dishevelled and more bruised than sacred. The demon looked to where his pray had been and seemed perturbed that he had let go. Kassie however took full advantage of the situation and concentration lapse and took a flying leap at the creatures chest using the handle as a pole vault hitting it in the chest feet first. It's attention now moved from the old woman to Kassie who was now at his feet flat on her butt, mainly because she forgot to right herself in the midst of her flying kick and now was regretting it. The demon let out another ground shaking laugh. Keep it up laugh boy well see whos laughing by the time this is over. Kassie snapped at the beast. Dom ran over to the old woman, Are you ok? Dom asked unsure of her mental state because of the attack. Im fine. She smiled But what took you so long? I have no idea what youre talking about. Dom looked at her puzzled But as long as your ok, the old lady reminded him of someone he just didnt know who. Lets get you away from here. He took her arm and led her towards a doorway. This way. He pointed. Dear Im blind you may need to help me out a bit. Oh sorry. He blushed and led her to where he wanted her. Kassie and I will be back to get you so then ran back to help out his partner who was taking random strikes at the demon as she avoid being stomped on, with every roll she countered with a swing of her stick. Then with every swing she would fend of another spike coming from its body. Dam you stop doing that. Kassie wailed at the demon. HAHAHA little girl is it too much for you shall I put you out of your misery now? Not likely mate. She snarled and with a simple revolution onto her shoulder blades she was once again standing. Bring it. The demon launched his body at her now spikes flying but still the thought of a 1000-pound demon landing on her wasnt something she was partial too. She stared in shock as she saw its body approaching her almost in slow motion. Just as he almost squished her like a proverbial bug. She was suddenly catapulted sideways, landing sidelong into a wall. Ouch! she whimpered rubbing her shoulder. Sorry babe. But you were almost roadkill. Dom got up and helped his friend. The demon had landed with a huge indignant thud and proceeded to bellow like a spoiled child. Dom picked up anything he could find and started throwing them at the demon; old fruit, discarded toys anything in the alley within arms reach. Get her out of here. Dom yelled at his injured partner. Im not leaving you here. Kassie disputed. Im not asking. Go now. He ordered continuing his onslaught of garbage throwing. Kassie knew not to argue and took the old lady by the arm and led her out of the alleyway. She turned back to see Dom was now backed into the dead end. She couldnt leave him there alone; she was about to turn back when the lady touched her arm. Its alright dear he will be fine trust me. Kassie felt a warmth in her arm where the womans hand had been, she looked at her and saw her sightless eyes, she had seen eyes like that before, on her grandfather. But hes all alone. She finally spoke up. No hes not dear. The lady smiled, Hes going to be ok. Kassie didnt know why or what was going on but she trusted the old lady, she turned again to see Dom still throwing rubbish at the demon, the demon in turn ducking and dodging the odoriferous projectiles like he didnt smell bad enough already. Dom glanced up and gave Kassie a small salute as she started to leave the alley at a quick walk. Kassie and the old woman made it out on to the street and found an alcove where they were going to wait for Dom. Kassie only hoped that he would run by them soon. Are you ok? Kassie asked the lady Kasseopaea I'm fine. She smiled that weird smile again Who are you and how did you know my name. Kassie asked alarmed. Its ok dear, I know a lot that you may or may not understand, but I know that you and your young man will be very happy together. Kassie eyed the woman warily she was saying stuff that no one here could know, even she and Dom had only just found out for goodness sakes. OK lady youre a little to freaky for me. I umm need to go back and help Dom. You will be fine here until I get back. Kasseopaea, Dominic will be ok. He will get here soon enough. But be ready this is only the beginning. Kassie looked at the woman confused. Only the beginning of what, she hated people who talked in circles, she was sure thats what the Powers did when they talked to Nicky and Mercy and that would probably drive her mad, if she wasnt already halfway there. She looked out into the street, and hoped that Dom would arrive there soon, I have to go, he was trapped. Kassie said frantically starting to walk back in the other direction when the woman grabbed her arm. Hes coming now. She whispered. The monster wont come to far into the light as it tends to hold too much goodness. She explained. But your friend approaches. She smiled and let Kassies arm go, He may need your help. Just at that second Dom fell into the alcove of the building they were in, startling only Kass. Shit Grom, you had me worried I thought you were done for. Kassie looked at her partner and realised that he didnt look to shit hot. Dont think Ill let you off that easy babe. He coughed, some blood coming from his mouth. It was then that Kassie saw it. Lodged about 6 inches from his spine piercing god knows what organs; was one of the demons spikes. Aww dammit Dominic, what did you do? Kassie was almost panicking. Im ok just a bit uncomfortable is all. His breathing became a little laboured, Nothing a cuppa tea and lie down wont fix. He tried to laugh which only caused him cough up more blood. He sat on the ground leaning his weight against the wall. An ambulance will be here momentarily the woman informed them. He cant go to a hospital what are we meant to say. Kassie jumped up trying to think calmly, Its not like they are going to believe that a 9 foot monster shot one of his spikes at him. Kassie paced the four feet width of the room. She was being punished again, she thought to herself, everytime I let someone in bad shit happens. Kass, Dom whispered Its ok I'm going to be fine. It's not your fault. Kassie sat next to him, she didnt say anything she just sat and leaned him against her he drifted into unconsciousness. Hell be fine. The old lady said to her quietly What the hell is up with you lady, he has a dirty great spike in his back possibly through his lung you dont know shit! Kassie snapped causing Dom to jump and whimper in pain. Be nice, Angel, she knows what shes talking about. Dom said gently to her and then passed out. You have some explaining to do. Kassie said to the lady, But later when he is ok, The woman smiled and stood by the door like she was looking out for the ambulance. Now three days later she was alone in his room, more clued up as to what had gone down but still unsure of Doms complete trust in Star, that was the old ladys name. It turns out that she is blind but, she is also psychic, which would explain why she wasnt scared of dying that day, because she knew she wouldnt. The demon; a Movic demon was doing a job for his boss he wanted Stars eyes, Kassie was sure she would find out why when she finally got home to The Sanctuary. It seemed like she had been away for weeks when it had only been a few days, although technically it was a few weeks by toadys standards, but when they got thrown back they were actually thrown forward a few weeks. So if they were missed or not was in question and also if the others were back safely, she hoped they were. This sortie had to be an Order induced Mission, but because they hadnt been zapped away they had missed the message. So now here they were Dom dying and Kassie too lost to contact anyone to let them know they were back. Doms injuries would have been simple to fix had that dam spike not torn him to shreds internally; he had lost too much blood and had so much internal bleeding that they said it was amazing he made it to the hospital alive. The longer she sat in this room in this hospital the angrier she got, she wasnt going to let that big ugly son of a bitch get away with this. She deserved to be happy and if anything happened to Dom it was going to pay. Kassie sat there actually praying that he would be okay when Star walked in; He wants you to be happy, he wants you to go home. She tried to put Kassie at ease. Get out of his head. You have no right. And you said you were psychic not telepathic. Kassie snapped she was getting tired of the constant pity and support party everyone in the hospital was giving her. Sometimes the line blurs, but you now that you have some feelings. Star smiled That has nothing to do with this, stay out of his head. Kassie rested her own head on the edge of the bed. Wake up Dam you Dominic dont you dare die. She half whispered. Suddenly the room came alive with alarms and beeps, nurses and doctors came in and pushing her out of the way and then asking both she and Star to leave. Kassie paced the hallway for half an hour before anyone came out to see her. His blood pressure and dropped drastically, they suspected more internal bleeding; they had to operate. That was it she couldnt take it anymore she had to get out she was losing him, her best friend, her soul mate and there was nothing she could do to help him. She turned to Star, If you really want to help you will tell me when and where that thing is going to find you again. It will be here, in the ambulance bay. Star replied When? Kassie demanded. It isnt certain. Star said quietly Maybe soon. Kassie assessed the coming situation; she saw the sadness on Stars face. Dont you fuckin think of telling me hes not going to make it. Kassie paced, Dont go anywhere until I get back. And she left in full sprint. 30 minutes it took her to get back to the hospital; she had been home no one was there from what she could tell, but she always had a habit of showing up when no one was there. She went to the weapons room; She needed as much firepower as she could get. She knew when Vin disappeared that he also left most of his stuff behind she just hoped that girlfriend Mercedes hadnt dumped it all. It seems she did or the others were using it, because the only firepower she could see was a bloody flare gun. She then went to Doms room she knew the little fire starter would have some interesting toys in there and again she was wrong there was nothing. This little trip home was not going well. She urged herself to leave the room without crying and went to her own. She opened her own personal weapons cupboard. It had her Sai in it she hadnt used them in a long time, most of the time she used what ever came in handy, she picked up her old faithful weapons and wrapped them carefully in there leather case. Then she grabbed her Bo, made from hollowed steel with her Awakening Sunrise Sai conceal within them. She changed into more battle friendly clothes because she still had part of the Victorian dress on. She stared at herself in the mirror she hardly recognised herself although she was certain she had never really looked before. Covered from head to foot in leather she needed the extra protection from the demons spikes. She left the Sanctuary and hoped it wasnt for the last time. In the ready room she left a note: Hey Guys (& Girls) Kassie here, no Dom Im afraid. Its been three days now since we got back. It seems we got warped to Victorian England. Weirder shit can happen, huh? As things happen in our line of work The Shit has hit the fan. Doms in hospital it looks pretty bad; some ass-kissing demon impaled him and well thats all I can say about that without losing it. Now Im in clean up mode, the demon bastard has to pay. Doms my family you all know that, and so are you. I hope I havent let you down to much with the shit I do. But its time to fight the good fight. Hopefully I will be home soon. Love you guys (& girls) Racus Angel p.s. So sorry if I messed up the place a bit. Will put weapons away if I get back. p.p.s. To Sugar and Spice would it be too much to ask to help Dom a little bit with that healing stuffs you do. Back at the hospital she found that Dom was in recovery. She walked through the Ambulance Bay and saw Star standing there waiting for her. It comes. She said simply. Kassie nodded and dropped her bag, and pulled out each weapon one by one, feeling there weight and balance, she twirled the Sai in her hands and then slipped them into the two sheaths sewn into her leather pants. She pulled out her 2 steel Sai and the baton she had made her self and slid the Sai inside the baton and with a twist her Bo was reassembled. Lightweight and durable, she spun and swung the Staff from left to right and then over her head singing as it twirled. Finally she pulled out the flare gun and flares, she loved this weapon, it had gotten her out of many scrapes and hopefully it would help again this time. She placed the bag with the flares in on a nearby bench. Then she heard it, the rumbling ground shaking laugh. It taunted her and she knew it. Hows our little friend. Does he have a booboo. It's jovial mood annoying her even more, Kassie wasnt going to listen to its ribbing. She pulled out she Sai and threw both of them straight at the Movics head. They struck him unaware right in the throat. It staggered back a little stunned, Ooops sorry did that hurt. Kassie asked sarcastically. She rolled the staff at her feet towards her and then with a slight flick had the staff airborne and whirling in her hands. Ready to defend from the spikes; It let lose a cry of discomfort as it pulled the Sai from his neck and dropped them on the ground, he then let out a scream and then a barrage of spikes aimed at Kassie. She fended off all the spikes, sending at least 2 back in the direction they came. She slowly inched closer to the beast keeping its attention on her so that he wouldnt try to take Star again. She had no idea how she was going to take this thing out but she was going to if it was the last thing that she did. The Movic moved towards her a made a grab for her missing her by inches. He lunged at her a few more times and she dodged again knowing any faster and he would have had her; and just with that thought he made a final grab for her and suddenly had her around the waist and shook her like she was a rag doll. Kassie was hanging mere inches from the ground her steel staff clench firmly in her hand. She struggled to get free to no avail; she lifted the Bo and swung hard into the Movics neck. It let loose a howl of pain as it clutched her target with his free hand loosenling his grip slightly. She again swung this time at the other side and he dropped her to the ground, winded and a little bruised. This time he let out a howl of rage and fired more spiny projectiles at her. Where she attempted to fend them off again. This time she dodged three but the last struck her left thigh, passing straight through tearing away all the muscle and flesh from the bone. She writhed in agony as he leg collapsed form beneath her. Never had she been in so much pain. Childbirth was a walk in the park compared the fire that was in her leg. She tried to stand but fell back to the blood stained ground, she pulled her self up to a sitting position and eye the demon as he sneered at her from only a few feet away. I told you girl, this was none of your business. And slowly started to walk away from Kassie towards Star. Im not done with you yet, you demon fuck up. She said drawing his attention again reaching for her staff, with a quick twist she unsheathed her pride and joy and before he could blink, the two Sai were imbedded into his forehead. He reached for the source of his torture, and tried to pull them out but with every pull he would twist and the outer prongs would only make the pain worse, drilling further into his head. The ground rumbled with his screams, in the abandoned ambulance bay no one saw the beast half the size of a Mack Truck screaming in torment and making it worse. Kassie now crawled though her own blood to her bag, she reached into pull out the flare gun, she could only find 3 flares and she hoped they would be enough to kill this thing or keep it at bay. She loaded and with a click and a thoomp she fired the first flare into his eyes, causing it to stumble back and fall to the ground. The second, from her vantagepoint she saw only one opening and that was under his armpit. She loaded and fired her aim perfect. Although she couldnt see it the look on the monsters face was that of defeat. He froze in shock and then screamed again in agony, he wanted to pull his arms down but because of the Cuivi Rmen stuck in his head he couldnt leaving his most delicate parts open to her attack. The final flare she loaded and then almost rolled over to the now almost incapacitated demon. Looks like I hit a sore spot. She goaded Does that hurt? She threw the Cuivie sheath at his privates. Seams that hurts like a kick in the balls? She continued as she got closer. The demon was in too much pain to answer he was trying to get away. Sorry mate, your not going no where. We have a score to settle. But it looks like you dont have the balls to finish the job. She levelled her flare gun back at the demon armpit and smirked and fired her final round. She dropped the gun; she heard the Movics final screech. Shut up and die you bastard. Was her last thought then she fell into shadow. |
