| WHAT IS CULTURE CRASH? It's a comic magazine that is released at the Philippines. It is sometimes monthly, bi-monthly,er...their release dates are a bit faulty, one of the drawbacks of this mangazine. But it is worth the wait the illustrations are beautiful, colorful, and full of detail. The stories are also original and has a distinct Filipino twist. The comics is in the Filipino language, and the influence is of japanese anime is evident. There are four comics that are inside culture crash, one of them is "One Day, Isang Diwa"- a story about a boy named Jun who has a fairy friend, he just transfered to a new school which is Macopa Highshool, there he meets Clarissa a beautiful and kind girl of which he befriends she is also popular in fact there is a secret club in different schools, the club is for all those who like Clarissa, the name of the club is 'Samahan Para kay Clarissa' or 'SPC' (Club For Clarissa). Clarissa introduces him to her friends who are all totally wacky. One of them holds a secret a guy named Jedd seems to hold the power of fire, he is a mysterious person who always keeps to himself, it also seems to be that he and Clarissa are more than friends, Jun by the way has a crush for Clarissa and the feeling grows everyday. A man in the shadows is out to kill Clarissa, and Jun saves her, but now Jun seems to have the power of the wind.Jun does something totally wrong which enrages the whole school body which all look up to Clarissa, it was all the fault of Diwa, Jun's fairy friend. Now the whole school is in complete conflict against Jun. The second comics is "Pasig", set in the time a few years into the future where the air is totally polluted and a civil war was engaged causing dysfunction at the current status of what seems to be the Philippines, but there is winter at this place, so maybe you can call it the Philippines with winter?, the heroine of this story is Mina Cruz a girl who ran away from home when she was 16 years old in order to train as a Bounty Hunter, after a few years she comes back home to Pasig, and meets the enigmatic Dante who is a Esclabo (a person who has been trained since birth about warfare, they are considered as lower class citizens and have a white mark on their foreheads which looks like the letter 'P'). The Third one is "Soltice Butterfly" this is a mecha manga and it is also set in the future, the countries all over the world have merged their power with other countries, there is a war going on between those countries via the use of their robots they wage a war against each other, currently Soltice Butterfly is not being published in Culture Crash right now, but has gone unto its own indie publication. The Fourth one is "Cat"s Trail" about Airee Colette, a thief who is constantly run after by a police officer named Poppy who most often does not succed in capturing her. The setting of the story is in the times of kings and queens. Along with her male companion Polaris they go around stealing, a guy named Butler who has strong magical powers which is not evident by the way he looks, has fallen in love with Airee and tries to always follow her. A well-known thief named 'Spot' cursed Airee, when she tried to get the precious stones under his statue. As I've said earlier, Soltice Butterfly is now out of service at Culture Crash so they replaced it with "Kubori Kikiam", a tale about fishballs, kikiams, and squid balls fighting each other amidst the human world, this comics is full of bad words so there are a lot of sensored text, this is totally hilarious, but has a hidden serious story about the past of the Kikiams and on what they ones were----humans.
