I Thought You Knew

Lemme get this right...
You want
me to tell her
About how cool
you're supposed to be.
You want me to tell her
You're so sweet and special...
Yesterday you don't know me;
Today I'm telling her something about you.
Well bruh, lemme tell
you something about you.
You are just like most of these fools;
No different than the average jerk.
Yeah bruh, I said it.
You are just like most of these fools;
No different thank the average jerk.
And the first thing you say
Is that I'm still mad at you and I haven't let it go.
You get kicked around for as long as you can remember
You just escape an abusive relationship
To hear your so-called "friend" tell
you you're so repulsive
And that things will never change
Just like your ex
Just like most people have told you for the past two decades
You get told that who you are means nothing
You get stomped on during Easter Sunday
You go through the hurt I've been put through
And let's see
you let it go.
The other day I sucked
Yesterday I was cool
Today I suck yet again
But I'm cool enough to tell her you rule.
You say you're my friend and I can confide in you.
Bruh you don't even
know me.
You never wanted to.
Seeing me was enough for me to lose all humanity in your eyes.
I remember telling you 4 months ago I felt invisible to you.
4 months later I'm still a ghost.
These days, we're supposed to be friends.
Your legs function properly
Your fingers still wriggle
So why do you stay a stranger?
Next year I'll be sure to run into you...
While you're on your way to visit
her.
You know she'll live in my building.
I guess it'll never matter all that much.
You say I'm so repulsive
But you don't know me.
You say things will never change
But you don't know me.
So much finality concerning how you see me;
You never opened your heart and mind
To look past what your eyes could see.
I guess it'll never matter all that much.
You really want me to tell her.
You want me to tell her about you.
But Bruh, I thought you knew.
