POEMS

The Day The World Cried   
    
Life gone in an instant
With blasts of hate from air
Caught within a moment
This deed done brings despair

Contemplate this evil
What good has this deed done
Left us filled with hatred
This battle never won

Torn with mass destruction
Deliberate hate designed
For only in one instant
Deep sorrow for mankind

Families filled with horror
Hearts are filled with tears
Within us saddest moment
What purpose brings us here

Let us join united
To say a silent prayer
For those who were the victims
Their voices we must hear

People joining hands now
Creating biggest chain
Bringing forth a miracle
Where evil brought such pain

Innocent are dead now
What power does this give
Lost within the horror
But yet we all must live

Fear cannot bring power
For deep inside hate looms
The power of the people
In silent prayer resumes

Hands that reached so bravely
To help those find a way
With hearts of grateful nation
We bow our heads and pray

For all those who are lost now
On this most dreaded day
We pray that God will give us
The strength to find a way

The Promise

There's a promise in our sorrow 
and a blessing when we sigh.
There's a light beyond the shadows
and a cleansing when we cry.

So when we are discouraged, 
and face tremendous grief;
it is during those times of trouble,
that the heavens send relief.

With our heart in tune with Jesus,
our source of joy and peace,
be mindful of His promise,
that all suffering He would cease.

He's cried our tears of sadness;
He's felt our every pain,
He's walked our path before,
all glory to His name.

Just listen for the spirit,
as it whispers to be still,
for there is joy and comfort
beyond sad Calvary's hill.

So if the sky should darken
and if the earth should quake,
remember life has struggles
on the journey that we take.

The aftermath of sorrow
is beauty and pure light,
if we can fight the battle
and pray with soul and might.

He sent us rainbow colors
to follow cleansing rain,
He showed us there are miracles
that come with all the pain.

Seek forbearance in the hardships,
or when we fear or roam.
Cast your burdens on the Savior,
and He'll come and take us home.

For He is our great Redeemer
our only true best friend,
He promised he would never leave,
He'll guide us to the end.

Footprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream. 
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. 
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; 
one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.
 
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, 
he looked back at the footprints in the sand. 
He noticed that many times along the path of his life, 
there was only one set of footprints. 
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
 
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. 
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. 
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life 
there is only one set of footprints. 
I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, 
I love you and I would never leave you. 
During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of 
footprints in the sand, it was then that I carried you."

A Remembrance

9-11 imprinted in your mind,
the memories will never get left behind.
We will always remember that day,
although we have changed our ways.

With that image in your mind,
and that tingle in your spine,
You will never be the same,
Not knowing who to blame.

All those innocent lives lost,
In bed most turned and tossed.
Thankful Freedom was saved,
The flag will always wave.

America will never be the same,
We know who to blame. 
Even though we look back with Dred,
The future is still ahead!

Good Bye My Friend

As he was laid to rest,
The flag across his chest.
He will be remembered well,
but no one could really tell,
what he thought of the war,
it had hit him hard at the core.
He had never been the same,
after that awful day came,
his buddies not knowing what to say,
where he was that day.
So many hearts broken,
because he was so out spoken.
most straighten up their ties,
all his friends said their good byes.
He is never coming back.
The flowers were neatly stacked.
Every on walked away,
on that ungrateful day.
