Intertuitive Interlude
=========================================

Welcome to the wonderful world of w3d,
Yet another extravaganza from sunny devon (UK),
It's time to give the monkey a banana,
It's time to drop off

"Microsoft (R) (C) TM SM Patents in all major countries and under US law 27894732.43278.3223. Unauthorised copying is a breach of fede..."

and start using Open SOURCE!

OK so w3ds not exactly a miracle but anyway...

USERS MANUAL
=========================================

1. Startup

W3d needs no config files so unzip and double click or even double click from inside the zip!
W3d does not need any waste-of-money-and-time-Microsoft-patented-(C)(R)TM-Install-Shield!

2. Running w3d

To begin with W3D needs to allocate memory. Because of dodgy coding you CANNOT yet reallocate them.
If you use more memory than you're allowed you will get an error or 'Illegal Function Call' and will be dumped to the DOS prompt.
For the tutorial have 1 object with 20 lines.

3. Making the lines visible

If you want to be able to see your lines type 1 at the main menu followed by your object number.
At the moment you cannot select your lines color but that will be coming shortly.

4. Drawing Stuff

At the main menu (Basic Option Menu) type 9 and then press anykey.
Press x/y/z to select your view. Views are from the selected axis.
Press h to plot a point.
Press p to scroll through the 'active points' - the one highlighted with circles!
Press g to delete the active point.
A line goes from one active point to the next - point 1 joins to point 2, point 3 to point 4.
With continuous draw (not recommended) 1 joins to 2 joins to 3 joins to 4...
If you plan to 'lie' a texture between two lines then make sure they are both pointing in the same direction - ie both lines are draw point 1 being higher than 2 and 3 being higher than 4. A texture goes from 1,2-3,4.

5. Texturing Stuff

At the main menu press 12 then the object number to texture then 1 to turn texturing on for the individual object or 2 to turn it on for the individual object.
Press 2 to generate a rainbow texture (only one texture allowed at the moment sorry!).
In future press 1 to use the texture editor but that's not ready yet.
Then press y to view your texture.
13 at the main menu turns ALL texturing off.

6. The rendering

Press 8 at the main menu to switch to the 3D perspective.
All keys do exactly what it says on the tin.

7. Quiting

Well, since you would never want to quit I'm not gonna tell you how to do that.
Unless of course you are quiting to download more great software off the site at www.geocities.com/god_same_the_queen77/index.htm, in that case you may type 11 at the main menu to quit.
Should the program 'loop' (basically means go wrong because of a bug) then press Ctrl+C to end it.
