Dogs

I have one dog named Vanessa. Vanessa, is eight years old.

When we returned our older dog Sissy, because he was a bad dog, we started to look for a new dog. Soon we found Vanessa lying in the corner of her cage, looking like the center of attention. We decided to take her.

Then we tried to think of a name. Her old name was Finesse, so we kept that sort of name but made it nicer. Then she was Vanessa.

A few years later in the fall, the year after the year I moved here, my mom's friend who works at a dog shelter told us they found a new dog and urged us it was right for us. So, we checked her out. We loved her.

Again, we started a name hunt. Since the shelter named her Shortcake, we didn't have a good idea that came from her other name. I chose Bella. We all agreed on that. And what Vanessa thought about her, well let's just say it was love at first sight.

And they started the nonstop "fight". We called it the Wild Rumpus. It's actually just playing, but with the nipping and pawing, it looked like a fight. And they always sneezed in the Rumpus (not like they didn't always sneeze without the Rumpus going on). When someone sneezes, the rumpus pauses. Bella fought belly-up.

And she would always roll over (not in the rumpus). Just walk toward her, and she would roll. She did it mostly to show strong submission, but she also hoped for a belly-rub. Vanessa hardly ever rolls over, but she loves to play. The toe-tapping foot-game, or steal-the-chewtoy. She loves chewtoys. She also loves snacks. Bella didn't really care for chewtoys or snacks.

Unfortunatetly, Bella had a serious problem with aggresiveness. She barked every time the garage door, the door from the garage to the house, or the front door was opened she barked. When somebody came over she got a little crazy. She would bark bark bark bark bark bark bark, lunge at the guest and try to bite, and sometimes even lunge at us. We tried and tried and tried everything but she just got worse. Finally we decided it would best for us, and for her her to put her to sleep. So one day we brought her to the vet and petted and praised her and gave her a treat, and the veterinarian gave her the shots, and Bella died but thought she just going to sleep. It was probably the happiest way she could die.

Though she is a little lonely, my dog is the best dog in the world.
