COACH KEITH HERBERT
Coach Herbert started coaching football at Fort Meade in Maryland in 1999.  Initially he started out as an assistant coach for the 85lb team and did that for three years, primarily coaching the defensive line.  In 2002, Coach Herbert assisted coaching with the 65lb team, and then coached for the next two years at Fort Bragg - one year as an assistant coach for flag football and the last year as an assistant for mini-mite tackle football team.  In 2005, Coach Herbert arrived at Fort Belvoir and started out as an assistant coach for the 85lb team and took over as the head coach before the end of the season. In all he has been coaching for seven years.  He started playing football at the age of ten in the Pop Warner leagues in New York.  He played mainly defense so he considers himself a "defense-minded" type of coach.  Coach Herbert strongly believes a well-balanced team can win games but a strong defense always makes the chances of winning better.  His philosophy is for all of the players to learn the game, be safe, enjoy the experience of playing, but most of all have fun.  He considers himself fair and impartial to all of the players, allowing them to have the same opportunities and chances and teaching them to always be respectful of each other as well as opponents.
