OREGON

One of my favorite states to go through on the trip was Oregon. These first few pictures were taken in southern Oregon on our way to Portland. The landscape is just awesome. The lakes had some of the bluest water I have ever seen. The picture to the left was taken through the windshield so sorry for the glare.

Just another beautiful shot of a lake along the highway on the way up to Portland. Jeff's sister was living in Portland at the time and his parents were also going cross country so we all met up in Portland for a few days

While in Portland we took a side trip to Mt. Hood. What an awesome place. I wish I would have had my snowboard with me. It was in the 80's and people were still able to ski and snowboard at the top of the mountain. This pic was taken on the drive up.

Just another picture on the way up to the lodge. I don't know why I didn't take a picture of the lodge, it is amazing. It is absolutely huge and was built by the Conservation Corp during the depression. It is absolutely huge and has incredible wood work inside.

These were two buses used to transport snowboarders at the mountain. I thought they were pretty cool and would love to have a mural painted on the side of my VW bus like these.

One last shot of Mt. Hood taken from the lake below it. It was pretty amazing to be able to ski on a mountain and then go swimming in a lake a few miles away all in the same day. Oregon is a really gorgeous state. After a few days wandering around Oregon it was time to start the journey home. This is always the down side of the trip, I wished we had another month at least.
