NEVADA & CALIFORNIA

Our next stop was Las Vegas! Rolling into Vegas from the Hoover dam it was HOT!!!!! Goatfolks was not at all happy, and it actually was the only time it overheated the whole trip. We gave it a rest and headed out to find cheap lodgings. We found a place right across from the

Tropicanna. We actually got $10 off the room because as we arrived the manager was trying to get a room open, but the lock was messed up. She told us if we could get it open we'd get $10 off our

room. Needless to say we got the door open. It was pretty much a dive, but it had beds and air conditioning. We had a good time in Vegas, lost a little money and relaxed. We had to leave at night since it was too hot for Goatfolks during the day. Our next stop would be San

Diego and my aunt and uncles house. We arrived there late at night/early morning. It was good to see my family from the west coast. They fed us, let us do our laundry, let us clean out the van(which REALLY needed it and showed us all around. We stayed with them for a few days before heading north. Our first stop was Santa Barbara where Jeff had lived for a while. It is a really beautiful area, but man is it expensive. Sure couldn't afford to live there, unless of course I lived in the van.

On the way up to Santa Barbara we had to pass through LA, which is where I snapped this picture of the traffic. It wasn't too bad but still a little slow going. We were kinda in a hurry to get North to see some friends and family so we didn't really have a lot of time to look around.

While in Santa Barbara I took this picture of this amazing tree. It sits all by itself and is absolutely huge. To give you an idea of its size, you can see Goatfolks parked underneath it on the right side.

We hit San Francisco next and stayed with friends for a few days, but when we went looking around I spaced and didn't bring along the camera, so we have no San Fran pictures, kinda a bummer, but I'm sure I'll make it back there sometime soon. The next two pictures are from northern California heading towards Oregon, our next destination.

A beautiful northern California sunset, one of my favorite pictures I took during the trip.
