Monday

We will discuss the idea of globalization as a class and find out everyone’s initial knowledge of the subject, and initial reactions to it.  We will then use the internet to look at the websites, Globalization, Vanishing Cultures Photo Gallery, Xpeditions Activity, and Globalization101 to further educate ourselves on the subject.

Tuesday

In class we will split into small groups.  Each group will make a chart with four columns; American culture, European culture, Japanese culture, and indigenous cultures.  Students will then list as many ways as they can about how globalization has affected those cultures, and describe whether they think it is a good or bad, or if they have mixed feelings.  At the end of class, students will be given their assignment to write a 2-3 page paper on globalization due on Friday.  They can begin working on them at the end of class if time permits.
