As you can see on the right, I've added a shoutbox. It's just a nice little thing to have on the site, however misuse of the shoutbox will not be tolerated, so be mature about it. I also moved the poll to the right too.

Interesting story going around the internet, Curtis Head may not be with the Lions next year.

When Lui Passaglia headed for the Lions' front office three years ago, it seems he took stability at the position with him.

The CFL team was sent reeling Tuesday upon learning that kicker Curtis Head is considering a graduate coaching position at his alma mater, Marshall University.

An athletic department official at the Huntington, W.Va., school confirmed Head had been hired, stating the position was full-time. However Head, who signed a minimum two-year CFL contract prior to his rookie season in 2003, said he had not yet decided to forsake his playing career.

"You're giving me nightmares," said Lions special teams coach Mike Benevides when told about Head's pending decision.

"I don't want to leave anybody out to dry, whether it's B.C. or Marshall," said Head, who is one course from his degree and is currently a student teacher at Marshall.

"The [Marshall] job doesn't open up every day but the job I have [with the Lions] doesn't open up every day either."

Head twisted his knee in his CFL debut and played through pain all season, posting kicking numbers equal to his predecessor, Montreal's Matt Kellett. However, Head averaged just 39 yards on punts.

Coach Wally Buono plans to talk with Abbotsford's Duncan O'Mahony when the Calgary punter becomes a free agent Feb. 15. But the Lions may again need a Canadian who could fill two roster spots if Head leaves.

Updates For January 17th, 2004

It seems like the city of Kelowna is drawing intrest from the Lions as a possible place to hold training camp. Wally Buono had this to say on the subject, We were in Chilliwack last year, but they cant accommodate us, so Kelowna is one of the places were looking at ... Right now were discussing the possibilities with the city.

The Lions have held camp in Kelowna before, twice in the '90's to be exact. Kamloops is also targeted as another candidate.

Updates For January 12th, 2004

As reported by BCLions.com in a press release, both Kelvin Anderson and Eric Carter have been released by the club. Here's the official report:

VANCOUVER, B.C. January 12, 2004. -- BC Lions General Manager and Head Coach, Wally Buono, today announced that the club will not invite Cornerback Eric Carter and Running Back Kelvin Anderson to the 2004 training camp.

This was a very difficult decision for our football club, said Buono. When we considered all the factors leading up to our 2004 season, we concluded not to invite them back to our training camp. I want to thank both Eric and Kelvin for their contributions to this organization.

Carter signed with the BC Lions as a free agent in 1999 and has played in the CFL for the past 10 seasons.

Anderson played with the Calgary Stampeders for seven seasons before joining the BC Lions for the 2003 season.

Happy New Year!

The Lions have signed runningback Antionio Warren, as previously reports a couple days ago by the Team 1040.

Our message boards have seen an increase of traffic and posts lately, why not join on it? Also, I'm putting together a small movie on the Lions (less than 1 minute long) and it should be ready for downloading in the near future. Decembers news has also been added to the archive page.
