cover of an American song 'Follow Me'. The original was by Lynne & Cybelle —
actually Warren Zevon! — and if it wasn't a hit he and the band would go and
live in the USA for good. 'Follow Me', was released in September, but the
results, as always, was apathy, despite some fairly heavy play on several
Pirate stations. From Booklet: Just Like Me The single came out in September 1966 on CBS, catalogue number 202297. It didn't chart, but Tony didn't go to live in States, he stayed in Britain and kept on touring throughout Europe. |

![]() It was scarcely an auspicious moment for a new member to join the band, but lan Green briefly took over keyboard duties in time to appear on “Follow Me” which they recorded several times before being satisfied with the results. "It's an American number and has two melodies of different tempos going at the same time", Tony explained, helpfully. The song had been recorded in the States by Lynne & Cybelle - alias writer Warren Zevon and his girlfriend - and in a fairer world, this sophisticated effort would have been a hit. Its I actual fate was predictably more painful, ensuring that virtually nobody heard the chunky R&B throwback on the B-side, “Walk That Walk”.
