The Hidden Urban Gnome Reserve & Sanctuary

    NEW GNOME PORTALS

  New Gnome Portals Installed,
Successful Long Distance Transportation Achieved

We are proud to announce that the HUGRS Engineer Club has installed new Gnome Portals inside the human house at HUGRS.
Almost one dozen Gnomes arrived at the Reserve en masse today by using these portals.
Our new guests travelled 255 miles from Solway, MN and landed without harm.

A few of the new Gnomes came out in unintended locations within the human house.
Despite the unforeseen nature of these landing mis-locations, all were immediately pulled out of their landing spots.
A rather pale, though upbeat and jovial Gnome, found himself toes deep in the human toilet bowl.
After scrambling out, he commented, "Well, I suppose there's nothing wrong with getting your toes wet on a hot summer day.  I can say that I'm awfully glad our host looks where he's taking aim, though."

A less - lucky counterpart, who landed inside the human freezer, was not as enthused about the situation he found himself in.
After being located sitting on top of ice cubes and frozen meat, his outlook on life in general may prove to have been permanently altered.
He is reported to have been a very welcoming individual before the trip, but now shuns visitors.

A new carpenter landed, warm and dry, in the brown bears food canister near the back door.
He stated that pushing the metal top off of the container while trapped inside was no challenge for him.
A life time of chiseling and building homes has given our friend a very strong physique.

Perhaps the friendliest welcome was received by a gentleman Gnome and his frog companion.  Finding himself inside the rats personal quarters, he was immediately and enthusiastically greeted by Oops, resident rat.  Oops is, by the way, possessed of a rare and charming combination of genetic mutations which render him hairless, dumbo - eared and odd-eyed.  It goes without saying that the new Gnome was thrilled to make his acquaintance.

Our engineers are investigating the situation to determine why these new arrivals landed in such awkward locations.  The HUGRS Engineer Club stated, "We don't know why it happened, but we'll be working on a solution as soon as the cause is determined."
