November 2003 Re: A letter from the GNO-ARMA President Dear Chapter Members: WOW!! The holidays are here. My, how time "fly's". Seems like yesterday your Board was gathered 'round my kitchen table "brain-storming" ideas for our upcoming year. I want to thank the companies that donated door prizes for the annual Bosses Luncheon held in October. I inadvertently left this information out last month, and as always we are most appreciative of our donors. I pray that I am not leaving someone out here still!! If so, please call me and beat me up on the phone for it. Thanks so much: Melanie Gonzales Dr. Chuck Nolan Advanced Imaging Solutions Dominion Oil Iron Mountain I understand the meeting at the Old Ursuline Convent was exciting for all. Thanks so very much to Dr. Chuck Nolan for inviting us to this historic and lovely New Orleans treasure. You can still see information on the Convent by going to our website. While you are there check out the pictures from this month's meeting. Thanks Jennifer Berniard for taking them and then posting them to the website for us. Okay, I KNOW that you are all very busy, but I really need your help here! I would like to know what kind of information YOU want to have presented to you next year. I also want to know your ideas on how to help the New Orleans Archives; i.e. Ideas on fund-raising, volunteer projects. Please think about these things and respond to me by mid-January. With your help we can make 2004 an exceptional year for GNO-ARMA members. I have an idea. Why don't we make January "Invite a Friend" month? For each member that attends the January meeting WITH a friend we will deduct $ 5.00 off of YOUR meeting fee. Bring TWO friends and get $ 10.00 off of your fee!! I KNOW that you have friends concerned with records and information management. Call em!! FYI, the Baton Rouge-Lafayette chapter is holding a book drive. If you are interested in donating children's books please bring them to the January meeting, and we will transport them to BR-Laf for you. THERE IS NO GENERAL MEETING IN DECEMBER I wish you all a safe, happy, God- filled holiday season, and I will look forward to seeing you ALL in January!!! Sincerely, Kathryn Smith, CDIA
