March 2004 A letter from the GNO-ARMA President Dear Chapter Members: This letter is going out rather late, but I had a lot to share with you so late is better than never. I hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring weather!! If you did not attend the meeting in March you missed another wonderful and entertaining and informative presentation from Dr. Chuck Nolan of the Archdiocese. Thank you Chuck!! WE NEED YOUR HELP AND YOUR INPUT. It takes more than a handful of people to make an organization a "HAPPENING' thing. We as an organization have the obligation to try to perform the tasks that our National association has outlined for us. I want all of you to consider how you can help us continue to exist as a valuable organization by more participation in monthly meetings, more participation in board activities, and more participation by helping us to find speakers that would be of interest to our participants. If you are interested in serving on the GNO-ARMA board for the year 2004-2005 please submit your name or your nomination to us via our website as soon as possible. Our web site address is http://www.geocities.com/gno_arma/ We will hold elections in May and the officers will be installed in June. We will be holding a board meeting sometime on the day of the spring conference. It has been suggested to me by most of our board members that is has been very difficult to put together monthly meetings. Let's be realistic here, we all hold "real" jobs. In our next board meeting I plan to make a move to change our by-laws (Article VII, Section 1) to hold general meetings every OTHER month. If you have any strong feelings on the matter please send me an e-mail at kathryn7940@cox.net or feel free to join us for our next board meeting. Notices will be going out soon. April is the month that has been set aside Nationally as Records and Information Month. We need you to show strong support to our organization by joining us for our Spring Conference on April 21. Bring a friend, bring your boss, bring your co-worker, but please join us. Our speaker should be of great interest to you. More of that is forthcoming, but please mark that date in your calendar now. For those of you that did not know, Jennifer Berniard has decided that she missed teaching, thus has gone back to her old teaching position at New Horizons. Jennifer has got to be one of the most patient, thoughtful, and kind individuals that I have ever met, and if ever you have occasion to take computer classes at New Horizons you want to ask for her to be your instructor. Advanced Imaging Solutions is sorry to lose her, but we wish her the best of luck in her new/old career. She is the best!! May God bless you all. Kathryn Smith, CDIA
