December 2004 A letter from the GNO-ARMA President Dear Chapter Members: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Sorry we missed seeing you if you did not attend our last meeting. We had our first meeting of the new year in a NEW restaurant, but the same old location. What used to be Charlie G's is now DeAngelo's and it was truly awesome. I had the chicken pasta dish and I want you to know it was fabulous. Thanks again to Carrie Fager, CRM for her very interesting presentation regarding Information Management practices of the La. Secretary of States office. What a surprise to see Mike Popkin again. He joined us for the meeting and informed us that he is now retired!! Barbara Jacobs and Sheila Hymel are both feeling better and both joined us as well. Barbara got married in December!!! Our members are full of surprises. On a sad note, Jennifer Berniard lost her Maternal Grandmother on Jan. 13 of this year. I'm sure all of these members would love to hear from you. THERE WILL BE NO MEETING HELD IN FEBRUARY! The board voted to skip the Feb. meeting because of the Mardi Gras parades rolling mid month. Our next meeting will be held on March17th, so wear your green and come join us!! If you received the notice about the BR-Laf chapter workshop on January 28 please note that it has been cancelled. Also, ARMA International is holding the General Election. You can see the candidate brochure at http://arma.org/news/candidates.cfm You can then go online to www.arma.org to vote Going to Mardi Gras parades this year? Send us crazy pictures to post on our website in March. Have a happy, safe Mardi Gras. We will see you in March. Sincerely, Kathryn Smith, CDIA
