Just when I was healthy, I started off to bed
Next morning I was sleepy, and couldn't lift my head
An elephant sat down, heavy on my chest
Lord, have mercy, cause I needed all my rest

My face looked like a balloon, I hoped it would pop
The drumming in my ear just wouldn't stop
Cowboy came in to see if I was okay
Nope, my dear Cowboy, just leave me alone today

I thought it would be only a day or two
Then I knew I could get back to all of you
I laid there watching TV, cause I couldn't read a book
Thank God we had no visitors cause of the way I look

Now y'all know that I can't be left alone with Bear
He sat at the foot of the bed, wanting me out there
Buffy wasn't far from him, she sat on the floor next to me
I reckon I could be in misery, cause soon I had all three

I went to the doctor's, and guess what he said?
Now, Sweetie, drink lots of liquids, and stay in bed!
I had to teach Cowboy a thing or two
He'd have to get things right, and get back to you

I went back to the Doctor, more pills for me to take
I thought I could open a pharmacy here, for Pete's sake
Eardrops, cough medicine, anit-biotics, he gave
I could hardly speak, so I gave him a wave

Back to see the Doctor just one more time
Didn't he realize he was no help to this body of mine
Finally he sent me to an ENT nearby
Thank God I was getting somewhere, cause all I did was cry

Now that Doctor gave me nose spray, and said get well
Three weeks with this stuff, I wanted to crawl into a shell
Cowboy said folks are praying for ya, Reb, what more could you ask
He was really surprised as he accomplished this great task

Then my computer crashed, I was really a mess
I wanted to strangle someone, that I must confess
Did ya know when you call Dell, they're in Milan over there
I asked if they believed in God, cause they must answer my prayer

Three days I spent here, so many techs I'd spoken to
I wondered if they spoke American, and that's so true
Finally I told them I wanted by money back
I reached someone who knew something, he got me on the track
