Darrin Edelen is the head of the �Big Three�. Darrin has long been an �A� league player and had to do a lot of soul searching in order to bring himself to play on Wednesday nights with the �C� league team Maximum Title. Darrin often dabbled with Maximum Title because he enjoyed watching the jaws of most players drop as he hit shot after towering shot. Darrin has gone from shortstop, to third baseman and now to pitcher�see the trend?!?!?
Darrin�s strength has always been his bat. He often is near the .800 mark, and almost always leads his team in average. Darrin�s glove has always been a mainstay in the infield, as most can see just by looking at him why he�s never found in the outfield. Darrin is a self-proclaimed redneck. During one game, he called timeout from the pitchers mound. The umpire was expecting an appeal, but as it turned out, Darrin saw a flock of geese walking just beyond the left field fence and wanted to take a closer look.
Darrin often gets upset with himself after nearly EVERY at bat. Sometimes he hits a seed into center field and curses himself all the way down the line. When asked what�s the matter, he just grumbles and the only words you can make out were �fence, ball, too short�.� Rumor has it that Darrin once �ended a little quickly� while having relations with the Mrs. and that he went off in a tirade. When she asked what was the matter, the only words you could make out were �sex, time, too short�.� When not coming down on himself so hard, Darrin is a great leader and motivator.
You may also hear Darrin referred to as MEdelen. That�s because when it�s game time, and the stats are being kept, he is all about the �ME�. When he reaches first and there was question as to the scorebook ruling, he is the first to offer his opinion. When the stats come out after a game, he is the first to catch an error�.when it�s made on HIS stat line. Nonetheless, Darrin is an integral part of this team and is looked to for veteran leadership and whenever someone is down on themselves for poor performance, Darrin is always there to make sure they�re doing it right!
