Travis
Support: I am Kloot
Venue: Brighton Centre
Date: 14/12/01
We arrived at Brighton Centre about 4 hours early hoping to catch a glimpse of the men we had come to see. It was freezing cold and we had been waiting around the VIP enterence for about an hour before we saw a coach coming up towards us. My friend insisted it wasn't  Travis but she was wrong, they came off the tour bus looking quite cool and collected. They signed a piece of paper I managed to grab of my sister. Fran took a picture of him and me and I told Andy he was a good guitarist which he thanked me for. After that bit of excitement we thought that would be it but we were wrong, my sister asked if we could go inside with them and we were surprised by the answer of yes. There were two other girls which we made friends with as well as me and my friend. We watched them play 5 songs and it felt like a private gig. As the set ended we saw Adam from the Adam and Jo show. We called he over and asked him if he was Adam or Jo and what do you know it was Adam. After a chat with him and a interveiw conducted on his camcorder we were invited on stage and I managed to get the set list which they used in Manchester. Then we met Adam again and after that had to go back outside where we waited for 2 hours. While we were waiting Adam came over again with his camcorder and asked us to sing some Travis songs which we did very badly.
After the 2 hours was up and we got let in I managed to get a place in the front which was good as there was loads of people there. The support band 'I am Kloot' were a band from Manchester which were really good and were telling jokes through the whole set.
After they had finished we waited for half an hour for Travis to come on and we were shocked to see the film taken of us by our 'friend' Adam was on the screen. We wern't the only ones who got on the screen though,  a lot of fans who were taped were shown. After that bit of entertainment they came on and started with 'Sing', the set was good and Doug smiled at us all the way through. The song that got the best response had to be 'Happy' and 'Why Does It always Rain On Me'. The band were great Andy jumped about on and off the stage, Nil drummed to his best, Doug looked happy and Fran was reaching the audience with his message about peace.
In conclusion this is the best gig I have ever been to and if you ever get the chance to go, do as it will be the best bit of fun you will ever have.
