Turin Brakes
Support: Simian
Venue: Brighton Corn Exchange
Date: 16/10/01
I'd never been to the Corn Exchange before and I never realised it was there before I had to go and see Turin Brakes there.
The simian set was quite professional and it was really surprising as no one had heard of them. Their new single at the time was 'One Dimension' which went down quite well and probably the best song of the set. They also played together well which was good.
When Turin Brakes came on a huge cheer went up, I had no idea they were so popular! The first song they played was an instrumentaland was quite uplifting, they carried on through the set playing mainly all of their album trakes which souned good but it would have been better if they had played a few b sides. The highlight of the evening was definatly 'Save Me' as it was a great live song and got the best reaction.
At the end I thought it was a good gig but not as good as the other gigs I have been to. I would only go and see them if you really like them or feel like a night out if they are playing near you.
