The Bluetones
Support: Webb Brothers
Venue: Brighton Centre East Wing
Date: 30/08/00
This was my first ever gig and I was really excited as it would have been the first time ever I would have seen someone famous in the flesh. I went with my friend and we made it to the Centre about 1 hour early and we were the 6th people there. When we got let in we were one of the first poeple to enter get to the front because we made a run for it.
The Webb brothers came on and failed to impress us as all their songs sounded the same and the songs they played were very boring. We cheered and sung along to new song at the time 'Summer people'. This may have been because we were all very happy as we were going to see the Bluetones.
When eventually the Bluetones appeared everyone went mad, Mark sayed hello and then went straight in to 'Soloman Bites the Worm'. Everyone loved the set and it was really quite different to what I had expected. Mark jumped around the stage and gave us a good show and for a while he turned serious for the acoustic version of 'Home Fires' which was a good way to do that song. They did two songs for an encore even though everyone wanted more.
I really enjoyed myself and felt as if it was the best time of my life, I would definatly give this gig 5/5.
