Seafood had never been a band I had listened to properly as they didn't really appeal to me. Even though their tunes are catchy and you could probably whistle them after one listen to a song. I was invited to the gig by a friend and wasn't keen about going at first but then changed my mind as it would add to my gig list this March.
Rock of Travolta were first on and played a instrumental set which was very good. I am not normally in to that kind of music but they played with so much energy it was hard not to like them. We talked to the bass player who was the only female in the band and she seemed nice so that made them seem even better to us.
Crackout came on after ROT, everyone seemed to know who they were. The set started with a new song (I think it was anyway) Mr Rabies and got everyone in the mood for moshing. Being right at the front I got very squashed and because there were no barriers or bouncers that made it worst. Two people ended up on the stage and I nearly did too but it was a great set and I was introduced to now one of my favorite songs 'Over My Head'. I managed to get the setlist of Steven (the lead singer) and they made the Crackout set complete. People go and get their album 'This Is Really Neat' because it is a great album.
After Crackout had been on I didn't feel like being squashed the second time round so I decided to go outside for a bit of fresh air. When I came back Seafood had started so I stood at the back with my friends and tried to peer over peoples shoulders. The set went on for about 45 minutes and thought it was quite good as they were a good live band but their music was not my cup of tea. Crackout were brill though and I would have paid just to see them.
