| I had entered a competition run by the NME to meet Supergrass only a few days before the actual event and had forgotton about it until I got a phone call from NME saying I had won. This was great news as I never win anything and I didn't expect to win a competition to meet one of my favorite bands. On the day me and my sister arrived at the elbow rooms and gradually about 7 people turned up. While was were waiting for Supergrass someone from NME interviewed us about what we wanted to say to Supergrass today and I said something stupid like ask them about the new album, he said he had listened to the album on the way down and liked it. Then Gaz, Danny, Mick and Rob arrived and Gaz said hello to all of us and we all made our way in to a little room with a pool table in it and Danny set the pool table up and we all started playing pool with Supergrass! Then Gaz went round everyone and asked us what we wanted to drink,I decided to be boring and have a coke we also got a free Grace promo. I then had my picture taken with Gaz and he signed all my stuff, again the guys were surprized about how much stuff I had and the NME guy said it was great that I had collected all of that. Then Danny and me started talking about stuff and I had a picture taken with him. I then went over to Mick and we were talking about the one big Sunday yesterday and he said it was ok but not brilliant because Danny was pissed so they had to keep watching him so he didn't fall over and he also asked me about my favorite Supergrass song which I replyed Late in the Day and Grace (yes, I know thats two). Then Gaz asked if I got my drink yet which I hadn't and he sent someone off to get me one and then passed it to me I actually surprized he remembered what I wanted. We then went in to the main bar and we had a group picture taken with Supergrass which was good. Then we had a dancing competition and the prize was a signed copy of the new album and a kiss from Danny. Only two people took part a man and my sister and she won the album and the kiss from Danny, she should be getting the album sometime this week so I will probably nick it, hehe. We then went back in to the small room and I asked Gaz to talk to my friend and he said sure and after my friend was she said was that really him? I then got Rob to sign my stuff and we were talking about his brother Charlies band and how he got dropped by the record company, we also had a converstation about companies who send txt message competitions to people and get taken to court. Then after an hour the guys had to go I shook Gaz and Micks hands and they thanked us for coming and I said bye to Rob and Danny. Then Danny came out and said who's phone is this? and it was mine, opps that would have been stupid if I forgot it. Highlights of the day include Gaz buying me a coke and the dancing comp but it was a brilliant day and one of the best hours of my life. |
