Hell Is For Heroes
Support: Dufus & Tetra Splender
Date: 21/8/02
Venue: Tunbridge Wells Forum
This was to be the third time I would have been to Tunbridge Wells Forum after talking to Tom the guitarist  for a while before the gig started we made our way inside the venue.
First on was a local band called Dufus they were about 16 years old and were wearing very funky shirts. I wasn't that impressed mainly for the reason that the band didn't interact with the audience at all and when they did talk it was to the 10 or so friends they bought with them, infact at times the audience were more entertaining then the band.
Next on were Tetra Splender and my confidence in support bands was restored. Tetra Splender sounded at times like Radiohead and the Chilie Peppers which wasn't a bad thing at all. They also managed to provide a very active live show which was a bonus.
Hell Is For Heroes came on next and went straight in to 'Slow Song'  which was what it was really but it was enjoyed by me and most the audience and a good opening to what was to be a great set. The band managed to play through a few technical hitches including the microphones not working and their music was recieved very well by the mosh pit which was probably the biggest I've ever seen. This was the bands first time coming to Tumbridge Wells which probably added to the bands energy, they really did seem like they were enjoying themselves it was nice to see band play like that.
In all it was a brilliant night with a great band who played fantastic songs.
